there's a program called Max that will do FLAC enconding on a Mac (and do really good rips in any format). It's on Sourceforge.

Yeah, make sure to seed everything you dl. As fex says, dl something that you think will be a popular torrent and keep seeding. Keep it under 10 GB down until your ratio is better than .1

another good thing to do is to download something REALLY popular (ie. an inconvenient truth) from a free tracker and then seed it on karagarga. this works fine so long as you make sure you're getting the exact same release.

saw notice that hawaii attorney is suing bit torrent users identified by individual IP addresses as part of a "swarm" for downloading, republishing, and distributing movies. so far the titles all seem to be asian porn. anyway, i only know what a bit torrent even is because you taught me - also, i thought it was funny that i'm getting notices that adult movie distributers are suing for their rights in hawai`i. i imagine they're interesting clients at some level. cheerio.
