"Trife 1" is an iPod favourite of mine. When/where can I get Trife 2 & 3?

.adam (nordicskilla), Thursday, 13 January 2005 05:38 (twenty years ago)

gareth, do you think my wife and i are crazy because we were stoned out of our gourds when we met you and it was like 2.30 in the morning when you came over? i know that was a weird night.

JaXoN (JasonD), Thursday, 13 January 2005 06:47 (twenty years ago)

adam, i can mail you trife 2 and 3 (im not going to be on slsk till i find a new place). i just said this on your hippie thread too. mail me the address

jaxon, i didnt even notice you were stoned ha. i was kind of a bit drunk, and enjoying the slanging match between your wife and gygax

charltonlido (gareth), Thursday, 13 January 2005 09:49 (twenty years ago)

scott seward (scott seward), Thursday, 13 January 2005 13:12 (twenty years ago)

charltonlido (gareth), Thursday, 13 January 2005 14:51 (twenty years ago)

bnw (bnw), Thursday, 13 January 2005 15:13 (twenty years ago)

gareth, should i go to film school or get a phd in crit theory

mark p (Mark P), Thursday, 13 January 2005 15:25 (twenty years ago)

bnw, i am not better than you. we are all of equal merit.

mark p, i think "ask adam" might be a better forum for such a question

charltonlido (gareth), Thursday, 13 January 2005 15:47 (twenty years ago)

gareth, when are you coming to toronto

mark p (Mark P), Thursday, 13 January 2005 15:49 (twenty years ago)

A very funny thread!

.adam (nordicskilla), Thursday, 13 January 2005 16:01 (twenty years ago)

gareth, are Matt DC and I of equal merit?

Stevem On X (blueski), Thursday, 13 January 2005 16:21 (twenty years ago)

[CONTROVERSIAL MODERATOR EDIT]

.adam (nordicskilla), Thursday, 13 January 2005 16:22 (twenty years ago)

i think gygax's bonus would be better spent on his NOIZ3 frenz and a lot of DRUQZ

kyle (akmonday), Thursday, 13 January 2005 16:53 (twenty years ago)

there are exceptions

charltonlido (gareth), Thursday, 13 January 2005 16:54 (twenty years ago)

It's possible that I may never get a bonus in my lifetime.

.adam (nordicskilla), Thursday, 13 January 2005 16:57 (twenty years ago)

everyone be cool.

gygax! (gygax!), Thursday, 13 January 2005 17:25 (twenty years ago)

Just a bit of fun, so lets be cool.

gygax! (gygax!), Thursday, 13 January 2005 17:51 (twenty years ago)

gareth, who are you. I don't even know who you are.

Aaron Hertz (AaronHz), Thursday, 13 January 2005 17:56 (twenty years ago)

gareth i haven't washed my hat since you wore it. is that creepy or sexy or sexy or sexy?

Jams Murphy (ystrickler), Thursday, 13 January 2005 18:03 (twenty years ago)

"hat"

.adam (nordicskilla), Thursday, 13 January 2005 18:04 (twenty years ago)

Stevem On X (blueski), Thursday, 13 January 2005 20:18 (twenty years ago)

it was a leading question, yr honor. sustained.

Jams Murphy (ystrickler), Thursday, 13 January 2005 20:33 (twenty years ago)

Gareth, do you believe the political situation in Algeria will ever be stable enough to allow it the relative prosperity of its North African neighbours, or will the repercussions of the civil war continue for as long as we are alive?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 13 January 2005 21:23 (twenty years ago)

Gareth- to what extend could Jose Mourinho be described as a "genius"?

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 13 January 2005 22:42 (twenty years ago)

why don't you like me?

Stevem On X (blueski), Thursday, 13 January 2005 23:28 (twenty years ago)

Where can the best Spaghetti Marinara in Leeds be found?

.adam (nordicskilla), Thursday, 13 January 2005 23:30 (twenty years ago)

Gareth, are you really 32x34, becuz that does not seem right? And why you always be tripping Morkisseyyy?

S!monB!rch (Carey), Thursday, 13 January 2005 23:52 (twenty years ago)

Is Gareth 4 inches taller than me? probably.

.adam (nordicskilla), Thursday, 13 January 2005 23:53 (twenty years ago)

Is gareth avoiding me?

gabbneb (gabbneb), Friday, 14 January 2005 00:14 (twenty years ago)

mark, i dont know about toronto at the moment. montreal is also quite tempting

aaron, i am the cedar that bends in the wind,

yancey, in these carefree times, a dirty hat is par for the course

ally, other peoples mothers wash hats

matt, i think the situation in algeria will become easier to predict, once it becomes clear what path libya is going to take in opening up, and how far that process is going to go

dom, i'm not entirely sure about the idea of labelling any football manager a genius as such, but it evidently clear the mourinho has fasioned an extremely exciting side, and made it his own very quickly too. the combination of duff and robben is quite something

steve, you have forgotten how to dream

adam, i dont know where the best spaghetti marinara in leeds could be found, i don't really know about the leeds culinary experience, that is something of a failing on my part i think

carey, why is it unfeasonable that i shuold be 32x34?

gabbneb, i am avoiding a couple of people, you are not one of them

charltonlido (gareth), Friday, 14 January 2005 11:17 (twenty years ago)

actually, maybe i am 31x32, on some trousers. i'll have to confirm later

charltonlido (gareth), Friday, 14 January 2005 11:18 (twenty years ago)

gareth, will you give me a call so that we can arrange for some drinks?

lauren (laurenp), Friday, 14 January 2005 12:29 (twenty years ago)

me too, phone me for drinks

caitlin oh no (caitxa1), Friday, 14 January 2005 12:35 (twenty years ago)

lauren, you are unable to make both tonite and tomorrows suggestions! ok, i'll call later tonite, and we can sort something out

caitlan, you live far away, i'm not in the habit of going out for drinks with girls that live thousands of miles away. oh wait...

charltonlido (gareth), Friday, 14 January 2005 12:59 (twenty years ago)

yeah, you would never do that.

lauren (laurenp), Friday, 14 January 2005 14:48 (twenty years ago)

at any rate, i suggest that you accompany me on monday to a rock event.

lauren (laurenp), Friday, 14 January 2005 14:56 (twenty years ago)

i think that gareth is avoiding me, but it's okay... i insisted on him drinking one sparks.

gygax! (gygax!), Friday, 14 January 2005 15:46 (twenty years ago)

tokyo rosemary (rosemary), Saturday, 15 January 2005 03:08 (twenty years ago)

gareth your assertation of my dreaming prowess having become diminished is incorrect. tho the nature of my dreaming appears to have altered in recent times (to consist mostly now of having intercourse with famous ladies, something which did not occur anywhere near as often in the past, either in dreams or in the living conscious realm) i can assure you it is as virile as ever. also i would like it if we could both be in New York around May Day. is this a feasible and desirable proposition?

Stevem On X (blueski), Monday, 17 January 2005 13:30 (twenty years ago)

no

charltonlido (gareth), Monday, 17 January 2005 14:28 (twenty years ago)

i went to the mean store but they were all out of you

Stevem On X (blueski), Monday, 17 January 2005 14:34 (twenty years ago)

gareth should I go to london to see vitalic?

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 17 January 2005 18:13 (twenty years ago)

i dont know what is happening with vitalic, at the minute

adam, i am on slsk right now, and also direct connect, maybe i will be on all day, if the house on the other side of the streets wireless connection holds out all day

i have a question for myself: what is that track that sounds like joey beltram might have played, and it stops and this guy goes "everybody lets fuck" kind of deadpanny, then the 909s come back in. sounds like it could fit into that nu-deadpan chicago thing.

i dont have the answer though, i am fallible

charltonlido (gareth), Saturday, 22 January 2005 13:09 (twenty years ago)

just a bit of fun, everybody let's fuck

gygax! (gygax!), Saturday, 22 January 2005 15:24 (twenty years ago)

gareth, are you enjoying your sick days? following your lead, i went for a second.

lauren (laurenp), Friday, 18 February 2005 16:37 (twenty years ago)

adam, which mort garson records do you now have? next you should check out bobby brown or cosmic michael

lauren, i wish i could say i enjoyed them. but i have spent most of it wandering around leeds in a daze, surrounded by ghosts of the past, and wondering what the hell im going to do

ilkleylido (gareth), Friday, 18 February 2005 16:53 (twenty years ago)

gareth, is it true that, as Tracer Hand said to myself and the Pinefox, that we should take everything you say as if all of it is meant to be funny, or do you think you are more, sometimes, serious?

ian,

not in the royal family. i saw one of them on tv once. i turned it off

ally,

funny you should say montral. both my current roommates are canadian, though from the other side, vancouver (one is there now, the other in egypt, and i am about to set off for thrifting in raleigh, nc. who knows what episcopal delights i shall find?). roomates always confuses me, it sounds like they share room. we say flatmates or housemates, i guess apartmentmates is a bit unwieldy

cutty,

of course someone is paying for this. it is i, lido. i pay for things with the money i earn from my place of employment. is this not normal procedure? also, perhaps someone forgot one exchange rate? (though this wont help me in Bologna next month, i suspect. or lisbon for that matter i suppose)

charltonlido (gareth), Wednesday, 30 March 2005 11:43 (twenty years ago)

What am I doing wrong, that I live in a shit town and have no time or money to go on vacation ever?

Also, do you absolutely hate your job, whenever you are in the office, and are you frequently tardy to work as a result?

browngareth - where did you end up going on your road trip? can you say hi to maj for me? thanks!

bnw (bnw), Saturday, 2 April 2005 23:33 (twenty years ago)

dear gareth,

have you any recommendations for what to do at glastonbury this summer?

yours etc

Ronan.

Ronan (Ronan), Sunday, 3 April 2005 11:03 (twenty years ago)

scott, the best was probably the Young & United lp, there was a 1964 jazz album with elephants playing the drums and trombone in a high school setting (ive seen this sleeve before, is it famous?), and a load of christian lps. i didnt end up buying any of them in the end, i think it was a combination of little time, and wanting to find something amazing if i had to cart it everywhere, and then back on the plane. richmond is very good for thrift records though, and durham was ok too. they sure like their andre kostelantz records down this way

caitlin, i dunno, i guess computers is a safe option careerwise (though maybe unix would have been better than cisco/networks). to be honest, its pretty boring though, i'd like to be a cartographer instead

byron, we went to richmond, then down to the NC coast at wilmington, then back inland to raleigh-durham-wakeforest-chapel hill, then up to roanoke, and along the blue ridge parkway for a while, stopping at staunton, then back to DC, stopping off at front royal.

ronan, i dunno, i think same as before might be a good plan. i'm thinking hawaiian music is the thing for 2005, but i dont know how you would incorporate that into a glastonbury setting

charltonlido (gareth), Sunday, 3 April 2005 13:16 (twenty years ago)

dear gareth,

whenever i look at your email address here i get starred out of my head.

sincerely yours

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Sunday, 3 April 2005 13:28 (twenty years ago)

sol hoopii is good, but, really, just any hawaii comps, i'd say specifically 20s through 40s to start with. im pretty interested in english prewar and wartime hawaiian music at the moment (felix mendelssohn and al shaw, to begin with anyway)

ally, gremlin?

dom, in a way it does. has there been a time when people have talked about such a situation with a team (even the 'invincible arsenal' thing, no one ever talked of them actually winning every single game, no matter how fanciful). though, its better to take bets, than make bets

amon, the track i put up (ignacio - darkness, mixed into axis009a, pluis probably another track(, is from the mills & garnier set, at i love techno, in belgium, i can't remember which year, offhand, though
