Appalling as that incident may be to animal rights activists, the question that fans now want answered is whether any other bird can replace Waldo. Hatebeak's future hangs in the balance, as this incident occurred on the first tour date in support of their upcoming Warner Brothers release.
A Warner Brothers executive was quoted as saying "We're confident Hatebeak will find a suitable replacement and have huge success with us in the future. This nonhuman vocalist trend is on the rise and Hatebeak will be here to spearhead it's rise!"
The pitbull duo of Caninus are currently being held in a local dog pound until the authorities finish their investigation into this matter. The band's human members could not be reached for comment prior to publication of this article.
Damage estimates from the small West Virginia club totally approximately $23,000.

what classifies long boards these days? i mean... there's the 35 inch range, which was monstrous when we were kids, but it's no 50 inch toe hanger with inflatable wheels...
i can't really enjoy a regular board anymore. i had one and sold it. skate or die. == i'm undead now. it was just so small. it was gross like i was gonna break it every time i moved.
i want a bike bad. i still can't believe i haven't had one for a while. i lived on that thing.m.

Longer Boards...i.e the old Schmitt Stix Yard Stick...32"-36" or so...or whatever are cool.
MSP have u thought about setting up an older board, I know that Vision and Santa Cruz both re-released all their classic boards with original shapes....HUGE BOATS!
im sitting on a pretty mint condition Jermey Klein from his early world days....im gonna set it up with some indy 169's, Swiss Bearings and HUGE/SOFT wheels.
OH, AND GET A BIKE!!!...YER CRAZY!!...GET ONE NOW!!!!!

The San Francisco Police Department went above and beyond the call of duty to keep skaters out of Embarcadero. Walrus Man, Frisco Dyke, Terminator, and Officer Squirrel were a few of S.F.'s finest who were truly dedicated to their jobs. Officer Squirrel would strike from above, dropping from trees and jumping out from behind the wave. Walrus Man was too easily outrun, so he would wear a trench coat over his uniform and creep up on unaware skaters.

yes! the infamous spin around the fire hydrant! - I agree, it is an awesome move & under-utilized even at the time. I think it was pretty much just Natas doing that, no?

I was into whichever H-Street video featured the extended street sequence b/w Ron Allen & Matt Hensley. Natas & those guys were srsly pushing the envelope back then.
― tevin "ratt" campbell (Pillbox), Thursday, 30 April 2009 05:25 (sixteen years ago)
Xposts: Natas was the first to do that at the time, and it was pretty much just him, kind of a mindblowing moment, that such a thing could be done (you hear a lot of stories of people trying to copy him and just not being able to do it).
― formerly: mehlt (Edward Saroyan), Thursday, 30 April 2009 13:18 (sixteen years ago)
maybe creepy of me to point out, but . . . Damn, that Natas video is so similar to 80s gay porn- the prison setting, the crotch shot, the supertan, the bro-down touching and patting going on, the awkward dialogue- it's exactly like a million "intro to porn sequence" scenes from Falcon or William Higgins movies. Just sayin'

Hensley & Allen in the age of the no-comply:
Looking at these & the Natas clip, it is obvious that this was the transitional element b/w straight freestyle & street skating that would come to define the culture subsequently. Serious zeitgeist stuff. Who else at the time was this creative in terms of street skating? Mark Gonzalez, maybe, though he seems a bit more old-guard than these dudes.

xxpost: Good call on Public Domain, Vallely, Barbee & the rest of second-generation Bones Brigade. I totally forgot about them, but they were def right there with the H-Street crew back then. I dunno about Mullen, tho. Don't get me wrong, he is A+++, but I'm pretty sure he was still doing mostly straight freestyle at that time. That Plan B clip has to be from about 92/92, right?
― tevin "ratt" campbell (Pillbox), Friday, 1 May 2009 19:40 (sixteen years ago)
from wiki:
His tenure at World Industries marked the beginning of a shift in his skating career from freestyle to street skating. He left the World Industries team to join Plan B, a super team made up of some of the high profile pros of that time. Throughout this period Mullen was learning from his idol Mike Ternasky, the Plan B founder, to adapt his freestyle skating form. This approach was first seen in the 1992 Plan B video Questionable, and ushered in a new era of street skating that took freestyle tricks which were traditionally done without rolling, or at slow speeds in a confined flat area, to a more varied terrain, often at speed and incorporating obstacles.

that dude's not gonna be able to walk when he's 35
― jaxon, Thursday, 11 August 2011 20:16 (fourteen years ago)
Dude definitely can get his gnar on, but to be honest, he makes for a kind of boring video part. Don't get me wrong, he's impressive, but there's a reason the early 00s trend of hammer parts went away.

Those have to be the most pretentiously edited "parts" I've ever seen in my life. I mean dude's talented and all, but you'd think they were documenting the second coming of christ by the looks of it.

― "HUH?" (admrl), Sunday, 26 February 2012 18:46 (fourteen years ago)
Amateurist called it a "novelty song" on another thread which really annoyed me
― "HUH?" (admrl), Sunday, 26 February 2012 18:47 (fourteen years ago)
it is kind of a novelty song, but a good one.

What do people think of those little Stereo Vinyl and Penny boards? Thinking of getting one for my little brother (not a skater) for christmas, cause they're cute and on sale, but if they're universally reviled for some reason I'd rather save him the embarrassment.

what were those skateboards in the 80s that were like half as long as a regular skateboard but just as wide? the one i had as a kid was hot pink.

Nash Doz'r?
Every pic I try to post gives me an error message, so just google image search it.
― how's life, Tuesday, 8 November 2016 16:12 (nine years ago)
i don't see a hot pink one but otherwise that looks/sounds right. thanks!
― na (NA), Tuesday, 8 November 2016 16:21 (nine years ago)
There was a hot pink Nash Executioner. My neighbor had one of those.
― how's life, Tuesday, 8 November 2016 16:25 (nine years ago)
it wasn't that. it was definitely more squat in shape like the doz'r.
