hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 22 July 2005 00:09 (twenty years ago)

http://image.com.com/mp3/images/cover/200/drd300/d376/d3761389257.jpg

but i bet it kicks ass too.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 22 July 2005 00:11 (twenty years ago)

more like ENDLESS BOURGIE

gygax! (gygax!), Friday, 22 July 2005 00:29 (twenty years ago)

wtf is your problem?

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 22 July 2005 00:34 (twenty years ago)

TAKE ONE CHILL PILL, i just always wanted to say that.

gygax! (gygax!), Friday, 22 July 2005 00:35 (twenty years ago)

comedy can be dangerous without a net.

jack cole, soon to be replaced by an optical scanner (jackcole), Friday, 22 July 2005 00:36 (twenty years ago)

start your own parody thread then, gygax!, keep it off my IMMACULATE and PURE ENDLESS BOOGIE THREAD.

Paul Majors / Vibes
Love to see this guy after an endless boogie show…Paul Majors has the realest vibes…record catalogue vibes us out…singing is the most guttural gravelly top dollar shit out there…endless boogie – dig em…

really man, fuck off if you're gonna be a jerk.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 22 July 2005 00:41 (twenty years ago)

joel, why were you talking to me about these guys the other day? said they sounded like somebody i liked?

The Amazing Jaxon! (jaxon), Friday, 22 July 2005 00:49 (twenty years ago)

i was talking about them because THEY'RE AWESOME but i guess i should refrain because gygax! is being a weird moody bitch tonight for no good reason.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 22 July 2005 00:51 (twenty years ago)

I thought "Endless Boogie" was the name of some one-off LP that a Japaneses guy made a couple years back? (which mean Gygax! should be all over it!!) But now you are telling me it's also the name of a group? WIth Paul Major? I left a message on his answering machine once, about 7 years ago, asking for his catalog, but the slacker never sent it. Oh well, he missed out on the period when I was way flush and was buying anything and everything from catalogs. I gave my busines to M!thc Kapck@ and St@n D3nski instead. And that Third Coast guy. And probably some other guy too. I used to get all dem catalogs. But not Record Vault. NEVER Record Vault. What do you think I am, crazy??

Stormy Davis (diamond), Friday, 22 July 2005 03:27 (twenty years ago)

one month passes...
stence, i can't find any info about these guys online. are there any sites? can you upload an mp3 or something? are their albums for sale?

JAXON (jaxon), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 05:28 (twenty years ago)

ENDLESS BOURGIE

JAXON (jaxon), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 05:29 (twenty years ago)

good times

JAXON (jaxon), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 05:29 (twenty years ago)

wtf are you some sort of ilm nerd? web sites, fuh.

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 05:36 (twenty years ago)

anyway i'm only linking this because i'm NICE (and you should buy records from chris anyway).

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 05:38 (twenty years ago)

i ain't spending 17$ on something i've never heard nor have no idea what they sound like.

JAXON (jaxon), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 05:42 (twenty years ago)

Then you are truly a fool because it's the best record of 2005. I speak on it with no small amount of reverence here:

http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/features/artistlists/w/wooden-wand-05/

and what with hstence and I both being certified experts on unbelievably cool shit, I'd think that's at least worth being intrepid enough to spend under $20.

Roger Fidelity (Roger Fidelity), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 12:43 (twenty years ago)

it's a great record! i think the first side is a little bit of a boring trad gras rip, tho. But shit man... GOOD JAMS. Side two is more heavy, classic rock drone.

Ian John50n (orion), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 12:46 (twenty years ago)

christ i hope they're better than trad gras, easily one of the worst groups i've ever seen, sounded like Ride or somesuch indie shit - i expect better of a dbl lep

Ward Fowler (Ward Fowler), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 14:24 (twenty years ago)

I'll give them a listen.

The last honest gentleman (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 14:32 (twenty years ago)

christ i hope they're better than trad gras, easily one of the worst groups i've ever seen, sounded like Ride or somesuch indie shit - i expect better of a dbl lep

you're insane and/or deaf

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 15:15 (twenty years ago)

I gave my Amarillo LP copy of Astrology Songs to hstencil about 6 years ago, it's a classic. The video is even better though.

gygax! (gygax!), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 15:16 (twenty years ago)

?

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 15:17 (twenty years ago)

Oh sorry, Roger referenced it in his Pitchfork list.

gygax! (gygax!), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 15:21 (twenty years ago)

ah nice. nice read.

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 15:23 (twenty years ago)

I just remembered I have short video of Endless Boogie (and the Optimo DJs!!!) when they opened for Malkmus about 5 years ago.

gygax! (gygax!), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 15:24 (twenty years ago)

you send it

Ian John50n (orion), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 15:40 (twenty years ago)

Ian John50n (orion), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 18:19 (twenty years ago)

hey howcum julio never posts on these threads? he knows his stuff, im sure he saw the same lame trad gras perf (supporting NNCK who were grate) and can also vouch for their shitness

Ward Fowler (Ward Fowler), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 19:11 (twenty years ago)

that parson sound rec isn't all that either

Ward Fowler (Ward Fowler), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 19:12 (twenty years ago)

you are insane. also julio hates "funhouse" so what good's his opinion anyway?

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 20:01 (twenty years ago)

julio you've let me down, and what's more you've let yrself down

Ward Fowler (Ward Fowler), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 20:02 (twenty years ago)

wow you just have to make one small slip w/ hstencil (funhouse is rub, lightning bolt sound like metallica) ...

Ward Fowler (Ward Fowler), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 20:04 (twenty years ago)

damn straight, i'm making your card.

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 20:17 (twenty years ago)

I found Parson Sound to be severely lacking

The last honest gentleman (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 20:21 (twenty years ago)

dude you like grime.

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 20:22 (twenty years ago)

noise board transformation into ILM complete

milton parker (Jon L), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 20:23 (twenty years ago)

THEY'RE HERE ALREADY! WATCH THE SKIIIIES!

latebloomer: not just indie rock but also rap, industrial and pop. (latebloomer), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 22:34 (twenty years ago)

trad gras, easily one of the worst groups i've ever seen,...

...(supporting NNCK who were grate)

hi i'm your polar opposite

amon (eman), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 22:38 (twenty years ago)

FUCK A NO JEFF BLUES BAND.

ddb (ddb), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 22:46 (twenty years ago)

the harvester & intl. harvester recs are really where it's at.
also, nnck are very.... mediocre.

Ian John50n (orion), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 23:34 (twenty years ago)

I've let meself down :-(

(i've posted here sometimes andrew - check out the 'noise architecture' thread -- and by AMAZING coincidence last night I got mail from a noise boarder/ilmer telling me to check out the noise ysi thread)

christ i hope they're better than trad gras, easily one of the worst groups i've ever seen, sounded like Ride or somesuch indie shit - i expect better of a dbl lep
-- Ward Fowler (littlefielda...), August 31st, 2005. (later)

more like a crappy pub rock jam.

but of course we saw the reunion thing...after that I never got to tracking down the archival 70s stuff. parson sound won the drone on poll for the best rec for [whatever year it was released in]. didn't track that down either.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Friday, 2 September 2005 10:30 (twenty years ago)

man the insert to this record kicks ASS
who drew this mancycle?

brock (brock), Wednesday, 7 September 2005 17:09 (twenty years ago)

hahaha. i dunno who drew it, but sooo OTM

Ian John50n (orion), Wednesday, 7 September 2005 19:43 (twenty years ago)

endless boogie (what a name) is playing an outdoor fest here this wknd w/ lungphish and others. i'll skip it just like the circle show tonight. im tired of bands and their music and their bandnames and their audiences. i like beer thoguh, so that stays

amon (eman), Wednesday, 7 September 2005 21:59 (twenty years ago)

go to bed crankass.

brock (brock), Thursday, 8 September 2005 01:45 (twenty years ago)

did you skip it, amon? they were great!

strng hlkngtn (dubplatestyle), Monday, 12 September 2005 12:41 (twenty years ago)

i stayed home and drank czech beer

amon (eman), Monday, 12 September 2005 22:01 (twenty years ago)

a fine alternative

strng hlkngtn (dubplatestyle), Monday, 12 September 2005 22:06 (twenty years ago)

i got tackled by dan higgs, so i figure between that and seeing a pimp slap his ho, i've had two true baltimore experiences this weekend

strng hlkngtn (dubplatestyle), Monday, 12 September 2005 22:07 (twenty years ago)

for "pimp," possibly read "some dude"

strng hlkngtn (dubplatestyle), Monday, 12 September 2005 22:07 (twenty years ago)

was he angry or just jokey tackling ?

amon (eman), Monday, 12 September 2005 22:39 (twenty years ago)

he kinda fell off the stage at one point and then he was doing something on the ground that i couldnt see for a while and then he just sort barrelled forward and headbutted my side. i think he might have hurt himself, but they still played two encores, god bless em.

strng hlkngtn (dubplatestyle), Monday, 12 September 2005 23:10 (twenty years ago)

Good thing you got padding, harvell!

Fushigina Blobby: Blobania no Kiki (ex machina), Monday, 12 September 2005 23:13 (twenty years ago)

THEIR NAME DOES NOT LIE

Mad SETI (jaxon), Monday, 17 October 2005 23:04 (twenty years ago)

did you like the live set? i have a tape of a show that's even better.

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 17 October 2005 23:10 (twenty years ago)

joel, can you run the details of this show by me again? did endless boogie drop and become replaced by jack rose or am i hallucinating that?

Special Agent Dale Koopa (orion), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 14:06 (twenty years ago)

did you like the live set? i have a tape of a show that's even better.

well, besides the quality, it was pretty cool. didn't make me poop my pants. but i'm not a lover of blues rock. they did a nice job of spacing stuff up a bit. pretty faithful rendition of all the great 70s hard rock stuff i've been listening to lately.

the funniest thing about that show recording was those two guys standing near the tape recorder. you could hear all their dumb conversations.

Mad SETI (jaxon), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 15:42 (twenty years ago)

ian, it's in the email and on that thread. and there will be another email today.

hstencil (hstencil), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 15:45 (twenty years ago)

MORE FUCKING SHOW SPAM AND WHATEVER I DON'T EVEN KNOW ANYMORE

hstencil (hstencil), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 15:47 (twenty years ago)

blackmail.is.my.life (blackmail.is.my.life), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 16:43 (twenty years ago)

you're friends with the no quarter guy? i met him at the cmj showcase. nice dude. can't wait to hear the coptic light lp.

hstencil (hstencil), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 16:50 (twenty years ago)

i'll see him this week when psychic paramount opens for AMT! i hugged him when he told me about the endless boogie news.

blackmail.is.my.life (blackmail.is.my.life), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 16:53 (twenty years ago)

i might go see AMT tomorrow since it's at southpaw and that is near my hood.

Special Agent Dale Koopa (orion), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 17:08 (twenty years ago)

yo stence - can i PLEASE get a copy of that tape as well? I can trade stuff if you like.

Roger Fidelity (Roger Fidelity), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 18:28 (twenty years ago)

i'm still not finished unpacking. once i find it, i'll try to make a copy.

hstencil (hstencil), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 18:29 (twenty years ago)

whoa - unpacking? you move?

Roger Fidelity (Roger Fidelity), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 19:17 (twenty years ago)

ddb (ddb), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 00:21 (twenty years ago)

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 21 October 2005 16:35 (twenty years ago)

FADER IS THE FUCKING WORST. BUT U GUYS PRBLY ALREADY KNOW THIS.

BUT JESUS ITS JUST RETARDED.

ddb (ddb), Friday, 21 October 2005 16:44 (twenty years ago)

strongo hulkington's ghost (dubplatestyle), Friday, 21 October 2005 16:44 (twenty years ago)

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 21 October 2005 16:45 (twenty years ago)

man, fader started out so great. one of the few really nice hip hop urban mags. then like the strokes or somebody made it on the cover and it was over.

strongo hulkington's ghost (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 26 October 2005 23:05 (twenty years ago)

lynshroom, Friday, 5 December 2008 10:21 (seventeen years ago)

Great! I was so paralysed with indecision between going that show, seeing Meat Puppets again or checking out a Jason Kahn sound thing that I ended up unable to do little more than eat pakoras and smoke weed. I did listen to the Black LP though. Still great. And a youtube search for live Endless Boogie clips quickly led from their Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs cover to an hour of vintage Aussie dunce rock action - Buffalo, Coloured Balls, Kahvas Jute, Rose Tattoo. So I had my fill of riffs anyway.

The free show they played tonight in Baltimore was fucking amazing. The jams were ferocious, loose, and wild, but the rhythm section was metronomic and tight and it was really blissful. This band rules! Wish I could catch em in DC with Sonic Youth tomorrow night . . .

it was cool. I almost texted you to see if you wanted to go after work but I figured you were probably doing EVR.

first song of their set went from 12:15 to 12:45 am
second song went from 12:45 to 1:05
third song was Smokin Figs in the Backyard from 1:05 to 1:10
fourth and last song went until 1:25 am

during the half-hour song I had to admit they take their name kinda literally.
