the stooges show was great, a lot of fun. remember that I am a geezer too and a total sucker for detroit rock (no grey ponytail tho). they did most of lps #1 and #2 including a killer version of "funhouse" that incorporated a bit of "l.a. blues." the new stuff sounded better than on record, fit in with the classics anyway. the band was in fine form, rock action had me tapping my foot on every song. the venue was an old theatre used by the REVEREND IKE! it's decorated like a cathedral with all his nutty "praise god/get rich" slogans next to baroque ornaments.

the only thing I have close to a complaint is that ron asheton no longer wears vinatge german military uniforms onstage but that's probably for the best. and my ears are still buzzing this morning.

they were in chicago friday night but they were playing at a really out of the way place so i went over billisa's with jeremy and we listened to records until 3 a.m. and somehow got very drunk. there are punk
houses all over chicago but they all bore the piss out of me except for the mexican one where busy signals, beat beat beat, and carbonas played last summer. dirt floor, low ceiling, on the southside, and they hate white people. it got a little dicey towards the end of the night but it's always funny to watch the younger punk kids realize that their ass is about to cash a check their mouth wrote.
