I'm only kidding with all the NW London boosterism! I am in South London every time I back, pretty much. I have friends that live in Peckham, a lot of them former Goldmsmith's students who moved down from North London for school and stayed. I also often go to New Cross, Brixton, even Lewisham!

the months switch back and forth between black on white and vice-versa. White on black months look much better in my studio. It is incredibly cool and shockingly cheap. Like 30 bucks.

I'm from UK/Europe!

admrl, Sunday, 29 July 2007 02:55 (eighteen years ago)

It's terrible there though.

admrl, Sunday, 29 July 2007 02:55 (eighteen years ago)

Not really, but the only garden you'll get in the UK is an allotment. Do you grow tomatoes? Also, i don't think we have "terrases" in the UK.

admrl, Sunday, 29 July 2007 02:57 (eighteen years ago)

terrasses I mean. Whatever that is, it sounds French aka evil.

admrl, Sunday, 29 July 2007 03:00 (eighteen years ago)

lol ohno the french it is in my brains - i mean terrace/large porch/patio
they have them here; it is possible that i shld just stay here but in a bigger/different place!

rrrobyn, Sunday, 29 July 2007 14:16 (eighteen years ago)

Two bedrooms in an old stone dorableness? Fucking hell, that'd start at like $2000 here ;_____;

Laurel, Sunday, 29 July 2007 15:10 (eighteen years ago)

tehresa, Tuesday, 22 January 2008 06:28 (seventeen years ago)

a couple of months ago the bf and i went and looked at this swanky newish condo development in pasadena -- just to look, it was hella expensive -- and it had all these communal game rooms and hdtv screening rooms and a gym and a piano lounge and and and and, and NO ONE WAS USING ANY OF IT. it looked really desperate and sad.

get bent, Tuesday, 22 January 2008 06:33 (seventeen years ago)

piano lounge!!!!!!

yeah i find it hard to imagine that the ppl buying these are suddnenly going tob e like 'hay guys let's be a community!' and hang out together and meditate.

tehresa, Tuesday, 22 January 2008 06:35 (seventeen years ago)

the piano lounge = an electric piano with a midi interface, in the middle of a room with some "modern" furniture

get bent, Tuesday, 22 January 2008 06:40 (seventeen years ago)

well, at least we have the electric/midi piano in our house
does ikea couch count as modern furniture???

tehresa, Tuesday, 22 January 2008 06:51 (seventeen years ago)

you high roller you

get bent, Tuesday, 22 January 2008 06:52 (seventeen years ago)

haha none of it's mine nd the couch has a wonky leg.

tehresa, Tuesday, 22 January 2008 06:53 (seventeen years ago)

xactly...selling these places with all the community rooms goes against everything that drives ny real estate. what new yorker wants a goddamned piano or game room to "share"

bb, Tuesday, 22 January 2008 15:04 (seventeen years ago)

i wld not mind the pool, though!

tehresa, Tuesday, 22 January 2008 20:28 (seventeen years ago)

i wld dig the idea of a community room if other people from the building actually bro'ed down there and were friendly. i think it's the fact that no one hangs out in these rooms that keeps people from hanging out there -- kind of the "no one wants to dine in an empty restaurant" syndrome.

乒乓, Friday, 23 November 2012 17:21 (twelve years ago)

that looks huge for $835,000

Swole Miss (Nilmar Honorato da Silva), Friday, 23 November 2012 17:28 (twelve years ago)

yeah that's a pretty good deal imo, although you'd need to put a lot of money on to it if you wanted to upgrade it from art school/early 20's living conditions. despite the space, it needs a lot of work. the exposed bricks shed mortar dust constantly, the floors are warped, and the bathrooms and kitchens on the top two floors are a joke. also the service elevator wasn't functional when I was there but maybe that's no longer the case.

otoh, that stretch of neighborhood is getting hella gentrified so I'm told

❏❐❑❒ (gr8080), Friday, 23 November 2012 18:02 (twelve years ago)
