can anyone xplain why the womenfolk seem to think, currently, that wearing big bands of elastic outside their dress/shirts is a way to walk around the streets recently? i noted three women doing this yesterday (one is a co-worker i know is kinda bonkers to begin with) and now that picture. are they doing heavy lifting?

Well if you're going to wear a top as a whole dress, you have to maximize the allure by not only showing enough leg to strangle a mule-train but also nipping it in to make sure passers-by know that there's a waist under there.

To be fair elastic is a lot more comfortable than wide leather belts cos it doesn't threaten to bisect yr torso when you lean over...but that's prob why belts are classier.

for a while i considered having a go at writing about fashion. before i gave up on caring about fashion i gave up trying to sort out how to write about it properly...or atleast better.
