to make a short story boring:
i stumbled on the pic of the sad-looking girl in black holding a foil sword on a tumble photo-blog and was intrigued by it. i tracked it down by url to the evony message board thread that was a call for applications to be "queen of evony." it was full of hilarity and sadness, as seen in wild proliferation here^, but some of the pictures were invisible unless you were a user. so, i registered for the board under the name "lady bernardus." i was amazed by their overarching geekspeak and in a bid to understand it better played the game for a few minutes, and then got scared because i liked it and deleted my account.
