I didn't say it was "all" metal dudes, but Finland is like one of the most metal-friendly countries in the world, and every time some friends of mine have dragged me to a metal bar/club, the majority of people I've seen have been fratty guys and booby girls.

Or whatever the Finnish equivalent of "frat" is, as we don't have those.

when i started this thread i was on tour with a bunch of metal guys who were very sexist and pretty racist/homophobic. at home, this is not what i encounter in metal, where most ppl in the scene have kind of a (somewhat) politicized or at least punk background where these things are not really done. a lot of metal guys are sexist, duh, but not really in the metal circles i run in. i don't hang out with redneck republicans who listen to slayer, i hang out with smart people. it's insulting to suggest that real metal fans are just across the board culturally insensitive fucktards who only care about drinking shitty beer and circle pitting. that hasn't been my experience, but i live in a really cool town.
