Feeling like Billy Madison up in this piece!!

A nerdy (note: not nerdy as in "I wear glasses but am otherwise pretty normal", nerdy as in "I wear a leather jacket that is XXL despite my being ultra-petite and probably play DDR at the mall") boy in the bookstore indicated my Minor Threat shirt (yes haw, trying to keep it posi on the first day of school I guess) and cooed (yes, he cooed it!!!) "nice shiiiiirt." o.O

Seconds before, I caught a hyper-nervous guy peeping my ass (caught by the ol' turnaround) and when I walked by again seconds later (not to taunt him, but because I was exiting the office I was prevously entering) he said, simply, "Minor Threat." I just kinda loled gently, I mean, what? He looked like he was about to drop dead.

Anyway, so I am posting this from lol college!

King Boy Pato, Tuesday, 15 January 2008 21:16 (eighteen years ago)

Roxy, you'll end up feeling less of a Billy Madison and more of a cougar if you keep wearing the dork-baiting t-shirts haw haw haw.

Updates:

The guy who cooed "nice shirt" is in my Western Civ class and he never takes off his massive leather jacket.

Western Civ prof constantly reiterating that he is not gay after mentioning famous ancient Greeks who were likely/definitely gay/bisexual.

I got to walk into Social Problems class at the exact same time as Tourettes and STILL didn't avoid sitting right next to him.

I have to annotate Puddinhead Wilson by Thursday, and my guitar teacher is making me learn "Green Corn." These rank as the two worst assignments I have ever been in receipt of.

roxymuzak, Tuesday, 29 January 2008 04:52 (eighteen years ago)

i got the best homework assignment ever tonight: read joint venture agreement and limited partnership agreement. come up with 1 question to ask about them next class. sweet!

it will get worse, i promise.

oh, i forgot to tell this: i was late to class the other day, and as soon as i walked in my western civ teacher (who is obsessed with issues of homosexuality in history {and always follows examples of this up with "i, myself, am not a homosexual" (uh)}) said "the greek army at this time was essentially 150 pairs of homosexual lovers. now, i myself, am not a homosexual, but..."

roxymuzak, Thursday, 14 February 2008 15:37 (eighteen years ago)

Today in a nutshell--

-Suddenly, everyone in Social Problems is BFF. Camaraderie prevails. Tourettes's Tourettes seems to have decreased in intensity. We are working on an AIDS project together. A quote from my prof -- "Of course I know what 'emo' is -- I am a Sociologist."

-Guitar: Tears of frustration. Break a string, and work on "Never Going Back Again" by Fleetwood Mac, which is a hellacious bitch. I will conquer her yet.

-Western Civ exam. Two separate questions (including an extra credit short essay) on the courtship rituals of Ancient Greek pederasts. A question about Alexander the Great included the option "D: Was a member of Megadeth in 1990." He wrote "for two crummy points" above the extra credit question.

-Start a fight in poetry over William Carlos Williams, then my prof inspires a host of o_Os by comparing Duchamp's "Nude Descending
A Staircase" to Grandmaster Flash and the Furious 5's "The Message."

Prof encouraging me to go to Brazil for the summer to study Sociology. Not interested in pursuing the subject, but want to go to Brazil.

roxymuzak, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 19:03 (eighteen years ago)

It says three new answers because I deleted two. I made a lot of mistakes. Twice.

roxymuzak, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 19:07 (eighteen years ago)

tehresa, Friday, 22 February 2008 20:34 (eighteen years ago)

I did 95% of the work for my MS in my office. Since I was working 8-4 and classes were all at about 6 or 7pm I would just announce that I was no longer on the clock and fire up Word. Of course I was still on the clock because nobody else knew what they were doing half the time and always needed my help plus I sat next to the hotline ringer but I tried not to bill for those hours.

this may be useful to you in your studies: be careful if you make typos a lot because if you mistype "negotiation" in a certain way word will auto-correct it to "negation" and then your argument will fail.

We will stay strong through this insufferable hell
I decided to write a comic instead of a final paper in one of my classes and I feel perhaps this choice was overly ambitious. Twelve 8.5x11" pages vs a 4 page double spaced essay. I am having more FUN but it is due tomorrow & I am a little over 2/3 way through and kind of stressing.

Plus math plus electron properties. And I have to give a presentation on my semester-long 'service learning experiment' at (cries) 9 a.m.; tomorow. Fucking A at least I just fit in a shower and am now alotting myself a good 15 minutes "drying off" time.

i had to do a scene from glengarry glen ross during finals week my senior year and i only had like 3/4 of it memorized cause i was busy writing papers for other classes and shit.

but i had long hair and a beard all semester and showed up to class with a crew cut and a 'stache and everyone was so distracted they didn't realize how bad i was fucking up. also i was all loopy cause i hadn't slept in days so i felt and acted like a crazy salesman.

gr8080, Tuesday, 29 April 2008 21:06 (seventeen years ago)

three weeks pass...

T/S: Confirming random people who want to be my facebook friend just because we're both in the Brooklyn Law entering class vs. Ignoring them and risk being thought a snob

So far I've confirmed two just to be nice but if this keeps up it's going to get annoying.

going BACK TO SCHOOL in august, fortunately i'm not on facebook

n/a, Thursday, 12 June 2008 18:05 (seventeen years ago)

I'll be "going back to school haw" myself in August. Good times.

burt_stanton, Thursday, 12 June 2008 18:54 (seventeen years ago)

hurting, my incoming grad class actually started a facebook group, but it may be a bit different because there are only 8 of us.

tehresa, Thursday, 12 June 2008 19:46 (seventeen years ago)

Yeah, Carbozo. Life feels stuck in an infinite loop and my path in writing leads to marketing rather than something more interesting (which seems to require one o thems fancy latte sipping Ivy League educated degrees). I feel good about the decision, but hopefully there's more "haw" than "baw".

burt_stanton, Thursday, 12 June 2008 20:36 (seventeen years ago)

That quote you repurposed keeps getting stuck in my head ("When you realize your life is worthless you go to law school" or something like that)

Hurting 2, Thursday, 12 June 2008 22:24 (seventeen years ago)

In a way I'm just getting preemptively disappointed.

I have a full-day admitted students event next week with a mock class. HAW

Hurting 2, Thursday, 12 June 2008 22:24 (seventeen years ago)

school never ends does it

J0rdan S., Thursday, 12 June 2008 22:34 (seventeen years ago)

Oh yeah, the base of that quote was from Edward Dahblerg's 'Reasons of the Heart' ... I don't think any of his books are in print.

burt_stanton, Friday, 13 June 2008 00:13 (seventeen years ago)

The sad thing is, if law school is an escape from hopelessness, imagine the rude awakening when you get involved in the career that's famously hated by its own practitioners.

burt_stanton, Friday, 13 June 2008 00:13 (seventeen years ago)

Of course, my own hopelessness involves being single for about 5 years, growing out every single one of my old friendships thus leaving me with none, having barely enough savings to live on for 3 months, and a horrific family I have absolutely no desire to live with again. Your own mileage my vary.

If I had some basic, developed personal life I'd probably stick with whatever shit I was doing before nothing. Though at least law gives you some opportunity to be involved in the world at large, even if that world is ultimately ruled by demagogues and corruption.

burt_stanton, Friday, 13 June 2008 00:18 (seventeen years ago)

Mock class today.

Funny: Girl who insisted on volunteering to give the facts of the first case we read had no idea what the fuck she was talking about and cannot apparently read.

Equally Funny: Guy who insisted on volunteering to give the facts of the second case had done a thorough briefing as though he were already a law student and also insisted on raising his hand for every other question. Way to go at marking yourself for assholedom before the semester has even started and with nothing at stake.

Hurting 2, Friday, 20 June 2008 04:39 (seventeen years ago)

is law school such serious business that you need to practice going to class before you actually start going to class?????

gr8080, Friday, 20 June 2008 04:45 (seventeen years ago)

That's how they make it out to be.

Hurting 2, Friday, 20 June 2008 05:00 (seventeen years ago)

I mean the mock class was part of a larger admitted students event. It's not like there's a mock class requirement.

Hurting 2, Friday, 20 June 2008 05:01 (seventeen years ago)

h...hi?

bell_labs, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 14:02 (seventeen years ago)

is this going to really suck?

bell_labs, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 14:02 (seventeen years ago)

probably yes, but it will be worth it in the end.
congrats, bell!

tehresa, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 14:35 (seventeen years ago)

MOTHERFUCK STUDENT HOUSING I'M TOO OLD FOR THIS SHIT I'M DEALING WITH!

Hurting 2, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 15:58 (seventeen years ago)

SURPRISE, WE'RE GIVING YOU AND YOUR WIFE A 400 SQUARE FOOT 1-BEDROOM APARTMENT! SURPRISE, YOU HAVE A TWO-HOUR MOVE IN WINDOW ON A SPECIFIC DAY AND WE'RE NOT GOING TO TELL YOU EXACTLY WHEN IT IS UNTIL TWO WEEKS BEFORE THE DAY! SURPRISE, MOVE-IN IS GOING TO BE 1-3 DAYS BEFORE CLASSES START!

Hurting 2, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 16:00 (seventeen years ago)

yeah, but how cheaply do you get to live in bk heights for dealing with that?

tehresa, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 16:03 (seventeen years ago)

eh, i'd live in a closet if i was getting free housing while i was going to school! the timing is shitty though.

bell_labs, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 16:04 (seventeen years ago)

yeah, free/super cheap student housing would kind of save my life right now.

tehresa, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 16:04 (seventeen years ago)

hey guys let's all talk about how much debt we're gonna be in!
me: ~$35k wooo!

bell_labs, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 16:07 (seventeen years ago)

We'll be paying about what we pay now in Jersey City for about half the space. But yes, that's better than paying, say, 60% more than were paying now for half the space, which is the boat we'd be in otherwise.

Hurting 2, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 16:09 (seventeen years ago)

If I don't live in student housing I get a small living stipend, but it's not enough to cover the difference.

Hurting 2, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 16:11 (seventeen years ago)

aw i thought i remembered reading you had a free ride + housing.

bell_labs, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 16:11 (seventeen years ago)

god a living stipend. that would be dreamy.

tehresa, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 16:12 (seventeen years ago)

the loan $ for my actual tuition will not be that hueg because i had free ride last year (in exchange for working at ehhh job) and next year i have a $1k scholarship, so total tuition cost to me is gonna be about $6500. but the loans for rent, books, food, etc. when living in nyc on no income definitely add up to a lot.

next year i will have a paying job, which will help, but i will probably still take out $ to supplement low salary.

tehresa, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 16:14 (seventeen years ago)

no, it's full tuition plus *guaranteed student housing all three years* (meaning I still have to pay the [admittedly low for the neighborhood] rent but I don't have to deal with housing lottery) or a small living stipend.

Hurting 2, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 16:16 (seventeen years ago)

Hardly something worth complaining about overall, but I just don't get why the school has to be such fucktards about move-in.

Hurting 2, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 16:18 (seventeen years ago)

aw all y'alls schoolings are cheaper than mine. maybe i should wait a year, save and apply to different programs...but i kind of just want to get it over with now.

bell_labs, Wednesday, 25 June 2008 16:25 (seventeen years ago)

i think all schools are fucktards about move-in.

19th grade here

i vacillate between omg i wanna be a lawyer and omgwtf am i doing this for it really sucks and has turned me into even more of a nutjob who can't tolerate other humans! awesome! social problems!

after graduation u can sue all those fukrs

ice crӕm, Tuesday, 19 August 2008 02:56 (seventeen years ago)

lol i am always like 'damn why didn't i go to lawyer school instead of this artsy shit?'

tehresa, Tuesday, 19 August 2008 02:56 (seventeen years ago)

things i am tired of in law school:

1. yr engagement ring
2. yr new house
3. "yeah the firm gave everyone an ipod" or whatever
4. douchebags
5. justice

harbl, Tuesday, 19 August 2008 02:58 (seventeen years ago)

6. eye strain

harbl, Tuesday, 19 August 2008 02:59 (seventeen years ago)

ok, minus #3 but replace with "i got all this swag in our gala gift bags" and also minus #5 replace with lots of loud talking and not listening to answers before jumping to next question and you have my grad experience.

tehresa, Tuesday, 19 August 2008 03:00 (seventeen years ago)

i have already taken every class i need and now i am just trying to fill 88 credits with things i do not care about and are boring. i have an attitude problem.

harbl, Tuesday, 19 August 2008 03:08 (seventeen years ago)

and i can't write a sentence good

harbl, Tuesday, 19 August 2008 03:09 (seventeen years ago)

i have absolutely no interest in any of the classes i'm taking this fall but i feel like i should just finish so i can have the damn degree to go with the debt, right?

tehresa, Tuesday, 19 August 2008 03:11 (seventeen years ago)

The one sentence so far that has given me the biggest omgwtf back in school jolt: "Yeah dude, there are actually a lot of good looking girls here."

Hurting 2, Tuesday, 19 August 2008 03:22 (seventeen years ago)

yeah i am also tired of single bros being creepy. an astounding number of ladies get excused for like a month to have a baby, for some reason. they should not do that. it's law school not baby-having school gimme a break amirite

harbl, Tuesday, 19 August 2008 03:23 (seventeen years ago)

wtf that is not fair!

tehresa, Tuesday, 19 August 2008 03:28 (seventeen years ago)

yeah and i feel like a bad person when i oops sleep through all my classes 2 days in a row (this happened but it was not an accident lol)

harbl, Tuesday, 19 August 2008 03:30 (seventeen years ago)

actually i'm not sure how their grades are when that happens, it seems like you would sacrifice a lot of studying. i will not ask any preggos this though.

harbl, Tuesday, 19 August 2008 03:33 (seventeen years ago)

i have been taking some community college classes. it is weird when people born in the 90s are your peers and not like little babies with poo poo in their diapers.

Lingbert, Tuesday, 19 August 2008 03:39 (seventeen years ago)

seems the middle of law school wouldnt be the most pleasantest time to be a preggos

ice crӕm, Tuesday, 19 August 2008 03:40 (seventeen years ago)

I'm the oldest person in my immediate 20-person group/section, although supposedly around 10% of the school is my age or older.

Hurting 2, Tuesday, 19 August 2008 03:52 (seventeen years ago)

monday!!!

im excited though

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 19 August 2008 03:54 (seventeen years ago)

not for classes of course

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 19 August 2008 03:54 (seventeen years ago)

i am well within the youngest 10% in my class but most people are like adult children

harbl, Tuesday, 19 August 2008 10:22 (seventeen years ago)

do i have to go back again today, i don't feel well

harbl, Tuesday, 19 August 2008 10:23 (seventeen years ago)

i am 2nd youngest out of an 8-person class; the oldest is 6 years my senior. i feel older than at least half of them, though. interestingly, not one person in my class came to grad school direct from undergrad.

tehresa, Tuesday, 19 August 2008 12:36 (seventeen years ago)

i am so happy i am going to finance school and not lawyering school because i am 100% sure i am not smart enough for lawyering school

bell_labs, Tuesday, 19 August 2008 13:49 (seventeen years ago)

you would be surprised how many of these "smart" people are complete fucking morons

harbl, Wednesday, 20 August 2008 03:01 (seventeen years ago)

ja my dad seemed really unimpressed by the level of intelligence of 90% of his law school class.

tehresa, Wednesday, 20 August 2008 03:08 (seventeen years ago)

like, to the point that he felt they should not be allowed to practice.

tehresa, Wednesday, 20 August 2008 03:08 (seventeen years ago)

I feel like I'm just about to finish ascending the peak of exhilarating newness of school and get my first glance into the chasm of drudgery.

Hurting 2, Wednesday, 20 August 2008 04:09 (seventeen years ago)

I'm about to be among the oldest of the 20-somethings there. I'm only 25, but it's like grandpa to the 21 and 22 year old recent graduates. It's weird going back to school after having both a career and disposable income.

burt_stanton, Wednesday, 20 August 2008 12:32 (seventeen years ago)

dude im thinking about going to lol college at 23 so cry me a fucking river

deeznuts, Wednesday, 20 August 2008 12:33 (seventeen years ago)

day two of school that included a 3 hour class (with NO BREAK. and nobody even got up to go to the bathroom the whole time?!) where we went over 200 pages of a calculus textbook as review

i have not even thought about calculus for 10 years

i am so screwed

bell_labs, Wednesday, 20 August 2008 14:14 (seventeen years ago)

haha i hate when they do that. i had a 2.5 hour one last year and if you dared get up to go to the bathroom you got this death look. wtf, we are adults here!

tehresa, Wednesday, 20 August 2008 14:26 (seventeen years ago)

it was really humiliating because i had a banana with me to snack on and halfway through the class a fruitfly started circling around me annoying me and the person sitting next to me. i wanted to get up and throw it out, but it would have caused a huge distruption and gotten me dirty looks!

bell_labs, Wednesday, 20 August 2008 14:28 (seventeen years ago)

burt stanton wtf, i think 25 is like the avg age to start law school. i was 21 but very few people were. a lot of people are 30.

it is better now, i didn't feel too pukey today and trial practice class = fun

harbl, Thursday, 21 August 2008 00:27 (seventeen years ago)

I'm very pro banana, very anti fruit fly. My last apartment was infested with fruit flies because of my love for fresh fruit.

Anyway, yeah, most of my classmates are my age. A bunch of schools I visited it was like ... 21-22 year old city. Same with the school my friend's going to.

burt_stanton, Thursday, 21 August 2008 22:14 (seventeen years ago)

Tomorrow I have a class about Civilization: Pro Edition

Hurting 2, Friday, 22 August 2008 04:35 (seventeen years ago)

today i have a mandatory happy hour, can you believe it

harbl, Friday, 22 August 2008 20:13 (seventeen years ago)

I had one on my first day -- it was at the most generic bar ever.

Hurting 2, Saturday, 23 August 2008 01:55 (seventeen years ago)

yeah i have a mandatory thing the day before school starts this year which is kind of annoying bc it means a trek to flatbush for no reason. i kind of don't want to see these people until the very last possible minute!

tehresa, Saturday, 23 August 2008 02:02 (seventeen years ago)

We have a three day overnight retreat over labor day. I am terrified. I think I have to share a room with one of these people!

bell_labs, Saturday, 23 August 2008 03:06 (seventeen years ago)

I wonder if we are going to have to do like, trust falls.

bell_labs, Saturday, 23 August 2008 03:10 (seventeen years ago)

oh god. do a mean girls recreation!

tehresa, Saturday, 23 August 2008 03:13 (seventeen years ago)

i dropped someone during a trust fall in rehab because i wasn't paying attention, she was shrieking on and on about not being able to trust and i switched off and she suddenly lurched right at me then thudded to the ground, everyone was helpful and concerned but i could tell that inside they were cheering.

estela, Saturday, 23 August 2008 03:22 (seventeen years ago)

you a badass!

tehresa, Saturday, 23 August 2008 03:23 (seventeen years ago)

it was an accident but she was such a histrionic horror show it made me lol.

estela, Saturday, 23 August 2008 03:31 (seventeen years ago)

i usually have a hard time concealing little giggles in situations like that. i think it is one of those 'omg i know this is inappropriate but i can't help it' responses.

tehresa, Saturday, 23 August 2008 03:33 (seventeen years ago)

i get a little shake in my voice.

estela, Saturday, 23 August 2008 03:42 (seventeen years ago)

i am starting BACK TO SCHOOL HAW on monday. i will be doing school full-time (three classes) and working full-time as well. but the LOL part is that i will be doing school from home and working from home so i will basically be spending every day in my apartment in front of the laptop for like 10+ hours, and that's not counting studying or writing or anything. i started working from home this past week just to get used to it and i think i am already going insane. i have been growing some pretty horrible experimental facial hair though.

n/a, Saturday, 23 August 2008 14:36 (seventeen years ago)

roxymuzak, Monday, 25 August 2008 14:01 (seventeen years ago)

wow i am really interested to see how this turns out! is there a liveblog in your future?
xpost

i have just been informed by one of my prof's assistants that i was left off the registration for the course. i just went and re-registered for it, but please note that this will be the THIRD time i have had to do so. ugh bureaucracy.

tehresa, Monday, 25 August 2008 15:12 (seventeen years ago)

I am facing the beginning of a programming degree in my somewhat immediate future, but first I have to take HIGH SCHOOL math courses. Eep!

Finefinemusic, Monday, 25 August 2008 15:16 (seventeen years ago)

luckily for me accounting and budgeting (at least in the sense i use it) don't require too many math skillz. i do feel kind of unblanaced, though! nothing at all science related (unless you count vocal pedagogy) since sophomore year of high school!

tehresa, Monday, 25 August 2008 15:19 (seventeen years ago)

accounting is nothing but the easiest and most basic of math. i had statisitics on saturday, which is harder than the accounting, but easier than the calculus, at least.

bell_labs, Monday, 25 August 2008 15:24 (seventeen years ago)

who needs liveblog when there is ilx

n/a, Monday, 25 August 2008 15:27 (seventeen years ago)

i really wish we'd done some stats work. i know it would have been harder but i don't mind if it gives me an edge.

tehresa, Monday, 25 August 2008 15:28 (seventeen years ago)

i wish i'd taken all these classes in undergrad. but what can you do, i guess?

bell_labs, Monday, 25 August 2008 15:29 (seventeen years ago)

yeah. i guess i am just annoyed that i am taking the same class about 3 times during the course of this program, but there's "no time" for more important things.

tehresa, Monday, 25 August 2008 15:30 (seventeen years ago)

also, why do i have hw before the first class :( :( :(

tehresa, Monday, 25 August 2008 15:31 (seventeen years ago)

i remember all the asian girls in stern crying in the bathrooms over their stats exam, and being so happy that i wasn't a business major. jokes on me lol

bell_labs, Monday, 25 August 2008 15:31 (seventeen years ago)

srsly, i do not want to read a 53-page pdf. i sure as hell do not want to print that shit out, but reading 53 pages on a laptop is really annoying.

tehresa, Monday, 25 August 2008 15:32 (seventeen years ago)

i feel so shitty/fluish today and i just remembered that our professor said that our class would most likely go over 3.5 hours. so til 9:30 instead of 9. eeeeeek. i just want to go home and crawl into a bed.

bell_labs, Monday, 25 August 2008 18:57 (seventeen years ago)

in my modern lit class i have to read 30+ robert frost poems by wed.

WTF? MU going down the tubes. 30 Robert Frost poems??? for modern lit???

Mr. Que, Monday, 25 August 2008 21:52 (seventeen years ago)

its true. everything else is pretty standard. conrad, eliot, joyce, woolf, faulkner etc etc

J0rdan S., Monday, 25 August 2008 21:55 (seventeen years ago)

i don't like to read but i do well in lit classes

J0rdan S., Monday, 25 August 2008 21:56 (seventeen years ago)

yep--i read all of those in my modern lit class. but i think my prof from back then has passed away. we did read the second coming by yeats though.

Mr. Que, Monday, 25 August 2008 21:59 (seventeen years ago)

30 frost poems sounds like a breeze compared to 4 battery cases.

it is pretty scary that you fail out of grad school if you go below a 3.0 gpa.

i don't know why i am just now realizing this.

bell_labs, Tuesday, 26 August 2008 16:07 (seventeen years ago)

that means they make it really hard to get below a 3.0, i'd imagine

i am "in class" (online) right now. i had forgotten the joy of morons delaying class by asking dumb-ass questions. which is made worse by this online class system where the morons don't even have to raise their hands to ask dumb-ass questions but can just type them in willy nilly

the advantage of this system though is that i don't have to act like i'm paying attention while the professor deals with the stupid questions

classes are still kind of annoying. professors need to figure how to keep that shit moving. yesterday's class notes were 17 powerpoint slides, and 1.5 hours into the 2 hours the prof had only got through 4 slides.

lots of reading. some short papers. not too bad but since i'm working from home i can usually sneak some school work into my work time.

Thanking u harbl
My bond markets class tonight was ok. The instructor is some bigshot who keeps mentioning his many tv appearances and has written 5 books but he basically has no lesson plan and just kind of does of stream of consciousness macro econ thing. This will be my only easy class I think. Some of my classmates are nice but everyone keeps giving out awkward hi-fives which I don't understand at all (frat boy thing?)

bell_labs, Friday, 12 September 2008 02:40 (seventeen years ago)

woah that is weird!!!

my theater design and planning class was tonight. i very much like the instructors, but being in a very small room with 8 drafting tables and 12 people talking nonstop got a little overwhelming. at least we had fun time where we listened to music while drawing stuff for the last 30 min or so.

next week we're back in classroom blahhhh. i have to admit the class is kind of fun just not especially useful to me and i'd rather use the time and debt$$$$ to take something i will make more use of in my career. seeing as that's why i went to grad school and all...

tehresa, Friday, 12 September 2008 02:47 (seventeen years ago)

I personally received 2 high fives today and I think I flinched or made a weird face both times.

it is more fun than other classes for sure. i was just staring at this rectangle trying to come up with some sort of proscenium inspiration and it was NOT happening.

i dunno i don't actually think sodomy is automatically interesting but yeah i can't think of one case in regular con law that isn't pretty boring and annoying. like it's all fake and drives me nuts. criminal law and crim pro (4th amendment stuff, not the adjudication things) have all the interesting cases.
