Is it finally easy to buy a wii?

latest wii news : metroid in august, battalion wars in sept, geometry wars announced. excited!

Any news on a rechargable battery pack yet (or is there a third party one)? I've not played mine in over a week because every AA in the house is run down to the point of only working in remote controls, not of the Nintendo variety. I should invest in rechargables and a charger, really.

The most annoying thing, of course, is I can't play VC or Gamecube games either, because you need to press A on a wiimote when the console boots up!

just get some rechargeable batteries - they're quite cheap.

And a charger! I'm pretty sure the one we've got here has probably had it.

they all end about an hour from now, but I'd say they'd probably go for about $15 each.

Weigh your priorities, man, because in my personal cosmology:

Owning Wii > looking like hobo > being hobo

its like 3 points for a 20OZ and 10 points for those 10 pack of cans things. its going to be a long, sweet ride.

So if I was being given one of these in the next couple of weeks, which games should I be looking to pick up for it?

Resident Evil 4. Warioware. Mercury Meltdown Revolution. Trauma Center. Get Wii Play if you want a second Wiimote (which you will, might as well get the free game). Madden is supposed to be fun on the Wii, too.

At least those are what I would buy if I could find one.

kororinpa would be excellent as a rental or if you can find it real cheap - its really good fun but there is not much to it.

Looking at Kororinpa it seems like Mercury Meltdown is close enough to make only choosing one of the two a sensible option, and it gets better reviews.

Ninetendo Uk's support service is Awful Awful Awful and nobody picks up the phone at their "dedicated repair centre". They don't even an @nintendo email address. The store i bought from says "give up, we have" But i'll be damned if i'm starting zelda and VC paper mario from the beginning.

Any suggestions?

It is finally easy to buy a Wii....in Ithaca, NY. After casually searching for almost a year, I casually located one within 5 days of moving here.

I have the Wii, two full controller sets, Wii Sports (duh), Play (Bleh, but I needed another remote), and Resident Evil 4 (splooge!). I also have graduate school, starting tomorrow. Fuck!

The stores are out, but if the local craigslist is any indication, you can get good used package deals.

Also, some people's apparent taste in games SUUUUUUUUUCKS

The Target by my house, completely out of the blue, had 14 of them yesterday. The guy behind the counter said they'd been there for a week, and they'd only sold 2 of them. WTF?

I bought Wii Play, Warioware, Zelda, and Paper Mario. In an amusing related note, I almost ended up with 2 controllers and 3 nunchuks due to my astonishing ability to not read the "things included" portion of the box, which would have been irritating.

Not that I'm running out of things to play, but any suggestions for next game purchase?

Also weird, since I was a GameCube owner last generation, to see the complete opposite of what I used to see: no Wiis on the floor of any store I go to, while there are tons and tons of 360s and PS3s (and PS2 bundles, surprised they're still pushing it so hard, but it must doing okay) stacked up in piles all over.
