I keep reading it, but NY has been pathetic for years now. I know the parallel is "KJ to Boston made them a champ again" and all that but . . . there are other teams, even if NYC is a top-shelf media city. Mostly I just don't like the Knicks.

See, I thought half the motivation for LJ going to NY, instead of somewhere else, is that he wants to single-handedly bring a championship to a downtrodden (preferably No. 1 media market) team. Otherwise, don't get him to NY and make a run at Bosh. And, conversely, Miami shouldn't offer a max contract to Bosh, as it apparently plans to do. Instead, cut out the middleman and have LJ go to the Heat for a max oontract. He'd win championships aplenty.

(At least that's what I say. And LJ has kind of suggested he might want to play with D. Wade).

Unless the money stinks elsewhere, I'd say LeBron tosses the Cavs in the ditch and moves on. NY does seem to be the odds-on favorite, due to factors noted above: world media center, the few remaining rags of glamor still attached to Knick franchise. NY also seems to be clearing the decks for an all-out attempt at LBJ.

dont think diantoni should be ignored in the equation either - averaging a trip dub is not out of the question - and the knicks will play immensely charismatic basketball and be loved by all

Yeah. The really f---d up possibility I read about is that LJ and DW leave their respective teams for NY (again, the idea is that NY is clearing space to sign two maximum contracts). I can't see it, since Wade is beloved in Miami and the Heat will be offering another max contract in 2010 (since they'll be able to dump the J. O'Neal contract at that point). That's why I dream of an LJ/DW Heat team. But, say LJ goes to the Knicks as expected, and Miami loses O'Neal but picks up C. Bosh. That's a hell of an Eastern Conference (once you add Orlando) and some classic playoff battles.

Anyway, bottom line is that I hate the Knicks (just as much as I love the Heat and Celtics).

yea as a native clevelander i don't want to admit it. i'm holding out that if the cavs do it up this year then maybe he'll stick around. my rationality about LJ's prospects is gonna be outweighed by my desire for cleveland to actually have a consistently awesome franchise, for a while at least

right. so I figure if they've made it to the finals, they should be healthy. watch, they make it there, and THEN the wheels fall off. having a young pg and bench (other than 'sheed obv) is key tho. i worry about older guards more than a frontcourt, and jesus shuttlesworth seems to always be in great shape.
