xp that's the thing, they're actually not far apart temperamentally or in terms of 'basketball iq', his ability to read the floor in particular is a shade off of rookie tim, which is to say excellent at this age; blake's athleticism and skillset has channeled his game differently but there's no reason he couldn't or indeed wouldn't develop the method, precision, or experiential skills duncan has and be as relatively valuable to his team as duncan was/is (which is not the same as being as good as tim duncan granted).

Rookie per game stats:
Blake Griffin: 21.5p, 12.4r, 3.2a, 0.8s, 0.6b, 2.8to
Tim Duncan: 21.1p, 11.9r, 2.7a, 0.7s, 2.5b, 3.4to

Pretty similar except for Duncan's huge blocks advantage.

don't think he had the same level of moves

theres a similarity there for sure, young amare seemed like he didnt really need moves, like hed just turn and dunk over anyone in a way that didnt quite make sense, griffin is more overtly spectacular

im sure amares footwork and all the subtle stuff was perfect, but the overall impression was of someone playing a different game than everyone else, dropped 40+ on duncan in back to back playoff games iirc
