Hickson got a lot better last year. He's 2 years older than Faried.

he's like 6'10, 250 or so. He played center all last year and grabbed tons of rebounds. He's not exactly little for a 4. But he can't guard a chair and just imagine him trying to shadow durant is like a cruel joke

After Nicholson basically had the best basketball quarter of his life in the 2nd quarter, Jacque Vaughn decided to sit him through e whole 3rd. Oladioo looking super-legit already. He attacks relentlessly and can get to the bucket pretty much at will; plus, he's already putting together some finishes.

Kinda crazy seeing the whole Pacers defense buy in to the verticality rules, think they had four dunk-blocks like that, and a few defensive posterizers. As long as the league continues to non-call those, they're gonna frustrate a lot of teams. Compared to the beginning of last season, their offense looks worlds better for both units.

Nope, but Pacers defense seems to building on it as a core principle, and afaik they'd be the first team to really do that. Hibbert really started mastering it last year; against the Magic last night, a bunch of other dudes looked to have picked it up. Don't think it was a fluke that they probably set some kind of team record for blocks last night. They did it so well that the moments they bit on shot fakes really stood out. If they continue to improve to the point where they're only closing out + going straight up defending shots it's going to be glorious to watch.

Jazz are 0-3 but they lost to OKC and PHX by a combined 6 points. They didn't look bad against the Rockets either. When Trey Burke comes back they should be fine.

Brian Shaw appears to be out of his depth with the Nuggz, anything is possible there.

btw Kanter and Favors are both averaging double doubles and their average age is 21.5.

Jazz def have talent but they're not going to win a lot of games- Matt as you've pointed out this is closer to regular "rebuilding" than any sort of blatant tanking but they will definitely not be trading for real veterans (lol biedrins) to push for the eps playoffs or anything silly like that. They will be good to watch while they lose tons of games.

Refs have always been really silly about those breakaway uncontested dunks. Scottie Pippen traveled on so many of them.
