JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville receiver Matt Jones snapped back at Joey Porter on Thursday, a day after the outspoken Miami Dolphins linebacker questioned how Jones could still be playing despite having a felony cocaine charge against him earlier this year.

"I don't even know why he's even thinking about me," Jones said. "I mean, maybe he likes other men and sits up and thinks about stuff, so I don't know. ... Is Joey Porter the commissioner? Then why would I even worry about it?"

Dan Patrick asked Brian Billick about whether Jim Harbaugh should leave Stanford to coach the Raiders. Billick compared it to having mixed emotions about watching your mother-in-law drive over a cliff in your Mercedes.

T-PALIN (daria-g), Sunday, 9 November 2008 19:36 (seventeen years ago)

Highest score at the half since 1983, apparently.

OMG they got 3 more just now, good lord.

T-PALIN (daria-g), Sunday, 9 November 2008 19:36 (seventeen years ago)

I MEAN YOU'RE IN 4DOWN LAND ANYWAY JUST SLAM THAT SHIT

Every Day Jimmy Mod Is Hustlin' (Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved), Sunday, 9 November 2008 20:34 (seventeen years ago)

this vikings/packers game is actually really good. pack has like 100 yards of offense the whole time and rodgers constantly under pressure and yet.. they are winning. two safeties from minnesota, three interceptions by green bay secondary

T-PALIN (daria-g), Sunday, 9 November 2008 20:38 (seventeen years ago)

bummed that i have no pats-bills game & missed somehow those guys eating up 3/4 of the last quarter going 92 yards for the TD. excellent.

T-PALIN (daria-g), Sunday, 9 November 2008 20:40 (seventeen years ago)

why have they not kicked over to the other games

McNabb/Reid should really be much better at running a two minute drill considering how many years they have worked together. They cannot work a short clock for bupkus. The Eagles have pulled a couple of crazy games out of the hat over the years, especially the 4th and like 26th play agains the Packers, but considering their offensive fire power they are just terrible in the 2 minute drill (Superbowl included) and criminy it is the same offense they have had for nearly a decade.

Mike McCarthy's calls down the stretch for the Packers today were also totally mentalist. Why blow a TO on that Petersen TD? Even if you win the call Minnesota is going to have the ball at the 1/2 foot line and all you do is lose a time out. I suppose it is possible that GB might put up some kind of epic stop, but considering the Vikings have run for like 250+ yards against you, not bloody likely. Then the Pack gets a good return and a couple of good plays to get them about to the Minnesota 40 then runs the ball TWICE with less than a minute and only one TO, playing it all like a 52 yard field goal is a chip shot.

Sometime last year I went on this whole rant about how teams were throwing the fucking fade too much and wasting a down in the red zone, and how there are maybe 4-5 receivers in the league who can actually catch the fade on any kind of basis, and this year I've seen so many successful fades and replacement-level guys like Baskett are catching them. What the fucking fuck.

funky president (call all destroyer), Monday, 10 November 2008 03:14 (seventeen years ago)

And yes bitterness aside it was a nice catch.

funky president (call all destroyer), Monday, 10 November 2008 03:16 (seventeen years ago)

why the fuck did he NOT JUST KEEP RUNNING

johnny crunch, Monday, 10 November 2008 03:39 (seventeen years ago)

My question is does the official get the red line on a replay or is he going by the sticks? By the sticks it was the right call.

funky president (call all destroyer), Monday, 10 November 2008 03:57 (seventeen years ago)

this game has been insane

The Reid/McNabb Eagles in a nutshell.

funky president (call all destroyer), Monday, 10 November 2008 04:43 (seventeen years ago)

seriously it's like the eagles contrive every game to be really close so that they can fuck it up at the end. UGH.

horseshoe, Monday, 10 November 2008 04:43 (seventeen years ago)

also, while on some level that was a good game, did anyone else feel like it went on forever? when the giants went up 30-24 i got all nervous and then my friend pointed out that it was still the middle of the third quarter.

horseshoe, Monday, 10 November 2008 04:44 (seventeen years ago)

also, andy reid: don't blow a timeout on a ridiculous challenge

iggles o-line did a much nicer job against the nyfg rush than the steelers did two weeks ago, tho

mookieproof, Monday, 10 November 2008 04:47 (seventeen years ago)

i felt like it went on forever, but that might be because dude @ bar pilar pours a glass of wine like.. what my dad would call a "minnesota glass of wine" eg twice as much as normal?

Even if you win the call Minnesota is going to have the ball at the 1/2 foot line and all you do is lose a time out.

OTM, I was totally baffled by this challenge - they were better off to have lost

he's going by the sticks. the red line was all kinds of off when they were showing the replay! we noticed it live at the time -- wtf the sticks are almost a full yard ahead of where they're putting their red line etc etc.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Monday, 10 November 2008 15:44 (seventeen years ago)

also that cheerleader has a cute face but again: wtf is wrong with all of their terrible boob jobs on the eagles squad.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Monday, 10 November 2008 15:45 (seventeen years ago)

like they were bad for nfl professional cheerleaders

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Monday, 10 November 2008 15:45 (seventeen years ago)

they showed a adjusted line from a diff angle in the second half and the call was obv right

the thing that was driving me crazy tho was in the shot they were initially using eli still had the ball in his hand where they were freezing it - i was all gaaah dont u see the information u desire is in between frames here people wtf

SNAKES! (ice crӕm), Monday, 10 November 2008 15:49 (seventeen years ago)

Yeah Schef that's what I figured....honestly the red line looked a lot closer to where the ball was than the sticks did but they always make a point of saying that the red/yellow/whatever lines are not official. Michaels/Madden conveniently not bringing that up last night.

funky president (call all destroyer), Monday, 10 November 2008 15:54 (seventeen years ago)

T-PALIN (daria-g), Monday, 10 November 2008 16:48 (seventeen years ago)

yeah, remember how like ten hours later when they were reshowing the zapruder throw for the 8 billionth time, they had readjusted the line and john madden seemed OFFENDED that they readjusted the line for, uh, accuracy?

Shockey has female hormonal issues inside his body. Must be since he likes to act like a whiner when things just do not go his way. Just a freak of human growth with some female hormones. Not a big deal, but for him it's major. A little therapy, let's say perhaps five years of it will get his head on half-backwards.

the dude was a rb/special teams player in '06 and i guess tiki was his "mentor" or whatever, got cut when they brought it all these other vet rbs to compete when tiki decided to retire.

i tried to get some dirt on shockey but no dice

omar little, Monday, 10 November 2008 18:47 (seventeen years ago)

ok, so like how are you supposed to tell when NFL network replay actually replays the game you want to watch? i want to see bills-pats - i guess it was incredibly boring but up til last season far as i recall they mostly preferred to win by playing a lot of ugly, boring games.

T-PALIN (daria-g), Monday, 10 November 2008 19:04 (seventeen years ago)

we already know that shockey has female hormones in his body, that's enough dirt for me!~

I got a chuckle listening to some Cleveland sports talk radio via AM radio skip while driving home tonight when a caller to the show stated that it was not 'truth in advertising' when they show Braylon Edwards catching the football in those 5 HOUR ENERGY ads that are showed all the time on cable TV.
