pw: motherfavrer

Live draft will be (Thu) August 20, 2009 8:00P EDT (but can be changed if needed).

Using the default Yahoo! roster +2 DPs, modest return yard rushing points (1 per 20yds), 10 teams, no all-or-nothing waiver times (1 day). The only thing that (still) sucks about Yahoo is no live scoring w/o a subscription, but I'll probably pay the $10 for it anyway and post scores here on Sunday nights.

PLZ DON'T ORPHAN YOUR TEAM IF YOU SIGN UP.

modest return yard rushing points (1 per 20yds)

I know this is more sensible, but boy was it fun getting a point for every 10 of Leon Washington's return yards last year.

resistance is feudal (WmC), Wednesday, 3 June 2009 22:34 (sixteen years ago)

Jesus Christ, it's barely June!

Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Wednesday, 3 June 2009 22:35 (sixteen years ago)

^^^ I KNOW! I thought I'd just check in to see when registrations started and BANG they were already open.

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 3 June 2009 22:56 (sixteen years ago)

i'll probably do this this year.

pending echeques (forksclovetofu), Thursday, 4 June 2009 16:51 (sixteen years ago)

who's the commish?

pending echeques (forksclovetofu), Thursday, 4 June 2009 16:51 (sixteen years ago)

You picked a good year to sit out (between going with an odd roster configuration and other inherent weirdities at the ESPN game), so welcome back.

I guess I am? I'll gladly co-commish tho.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 4 June 2009 17:01 (sixteen years ago)

i'm in

hugging used to mean something (call all destroyer), Thursday, 4 June 2009 17:05 (sixteen years ago)

I'm still kind of annoyed about a trade that went on in 07 that never sat right with me. You want to take me on as co-commish?

pending echeques (forksclovetofu), Thursday, 4 June 2009 17:24 (sixteen years ago)

i am definitely in for more punishment but FUCK RETURN YARDS imho

special guest appearance (Roberto Spiralli), Thursday, 4 June 2009 17:34 (sixteen years ago)

I'm in, and I DEMAND RETURN YARDS imho

resistance is feudal (WmC), Thursday, 4 June 2009 17:35 (sixteen years ago)

i vote fuck 'em

i vote fuck idp too btw

hugging used to mean something (call all destroyer), Thursday, 4 June 2009 17:35 (sixteen years ago)

hmmm, i <3 idp. looks like we got ourselves a mexican standoff.

tbh, i wasn't necessarily saying get rid of return yards. just fuck 'em is all. FUCK EM TO HELL AND BACK.

special guest appearance (Roberto Spiralli), Thursday, 4 June 2009 17:38 (sixteen years ago)

hahahah

hugging used to mean something (call all destroyer), Thursday, 4 June 2009 17:39 (sixteen years ago)

a trade that went on in 07

Still?! Yeah, a hell of a lot of good Carson Palmer ended up doing me too (I can't remember who the other player was). But I'm out of the shady trade business.

You're in if you want it.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 4 June 2009 17:54 (sixteen years ago)

i hold a fantasy grudge. Okay, I'll join in and co-mmish if you'll have me.

pending echeques (forksclovetofu), Thursday, 4 June 2009 17:55 (sixteen years ago)

Return yards at least help out when you got the shaft on RBs, or during a bye. Last year at 1pt per 10yds, though, they were screwing with regularity (elite WRs were getting blown out by kick returners and shit). Everything's gonna be all square this year, because by week 3 or 4 last year, I wasn't even having fun anymore with that retarded roster arrangement and bizarro return yardage points. ILNFL 2008 NEVER HAPPENED! ;)

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 4 June 2009 17:58 (sixteen years ago)

yeah 1 pt/20 yds is good if we're gonna do it.

hugging used to mean something (call all destroyer), Thursday, 4 June 2009 17:59 (sixteen years ago)

i was in a league that had that problem a couple years ago w/r/t terrance mcgee

hugging used to mean something (call all destroyer), Thursday, 4 June 2009 18:00 (sixteen years ago)

1 for 20 sounds right

pending echeques (forksclovetofu), Thursday, 4 June 2009 18:00 (sixteen years ago)

Appears to be no co-commishing in Yahoo! world, so I'll turn over the reigns as draft day approaches.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 4 June 2009 18:01 (sixteen years ago)

obligatory minor quibbles:

fumbles and INTs should both be -2 at least

Tackle Solo 2
Tackle Assist 1
Sack 1
these seems kinda wacky. maybe sack=2, tack=1, asst=0.5?

so happy to be done with those crummy roster settings from last year.

special guest appearance (Roberto Spiralli), Thursday, 4 June 2009 18:04 (sixteen years ago)

whoa yeah those tackle points are not ok!

hugging used to mean something (call all destroyer), Thursday, 4 June 2009 18:05 (sixteen years ago)

Not a fan of XTREME DP scoring?

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 4 June 2009 18:07 (sixteen years ago)

not sure. i'm going to google "extreme dp" and then i'll get back to you.

special guest appearance (Roberto Spiralli), Thursday, 4 June 2009 18:08 (sixteen years ago)

I loved the first year playing IDP, and finishing a week with a linebacker getting 30 points, but whatevs you guys.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 4 June 2009 18:09 (sixteen years ago)

Srsly, I don't care if we end up going with modest scoring there too.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 4 June 2009 18:11 (sixteen years ago)

i think an idp should be worth as much as your average RB/WR slash position guy tbh

hugging used to mean something (call all destroyer), Thursday, 4 June 2009 18:12 (sixteen years ago)

i was talking more about relative proportion than actual magnitude. like, a sack should be worth more than a regular ol' tackle, no? i am all for asst=1 tack=2 sack/int=4. bring it baby.

special guest appearance (Roberto Spiralli), Thursday, 4 June 2009 18:13 (sixteen years ago)

i really don't want MLBs getting like a reliable 20 pts/week

hugging used to mean something (call all destroyer), Thursday, 4 June 2009 18:14 (sixteen years ago)

Changed to:

Sack = 2
Tackle Solo = 1
Tackle Asst = 1 (I hate fractional scoring)

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 4 June 2009 18:16 (sixteen years ago)

will cosign on that, but i'd put an assist as .5 regardless of your mathemagic phobia

pending echeques (forksclovetofu), Thursday, 4 June 2009 18:25 (sixteen years ago)

yeah it's not like anyone is asking you to do the math yrself tbf

hugging used to mean something (call all destroyer), Thursday, 4 June 2009 18:27 (sixteen years ago)

haha

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 4 June 2009 18:29 (sixteen years ago)

Alright statisticionistsesses...you got your fractional points now.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 4 June 2009 18:59 (sixteen years ago)

one month passes...

I want a slot!!!!

Mordy, Wednesday, 15 July 2009 21:49 (fifteen years ago)

Why aren't we doing it on ESPN tho where the live scoring is free?

Mordy, Wednesday, 15 July 2009 21:49 (fifteen years ago)

The innerworkings of the ESPN mechanism are unsatisfactory re: waiver times and some other semi-important thing which I can't remember right now.

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 15 July 2009 21:51 (fifteen years ago)

Ok, so how do I join?

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 15 July 2009 21:56 (fifteen years ago)

I thought I'd signed up last month, but then I remembered I was waffling at the time. Went ahead and signed up just now...just 10 teams? Should be a nice deep league.

Beanbag the Gardener (WmC), Wednesday, 15 July 2009 22:56 (fifteen years ago)

There was a problem

* This league is full. (Error #221)

OUTRAGEOUS

bnw, Wednesday, 15 July 2009 23:03 (fifteen years ago)

I don't mind dropping out, since I'm still not 100% sure I want to play this year, but on the other hand 12 teams doesn't spread the peanut butter much thinner than 10 teams.

Beanbag the Gardener (WmC), Wednesday, 15 July 2009 23:23 (fifteen years ago)

whoa I missed this, good luck to all and may all your players be Browns

hobbes (brownie), Wednesday, 15 July 2009 23:32 (fifteen years ago)

make up your mind

bnw, Wednesday, 15 July 2009 23:33 (fifteen years ago)

I think it can still be bumped up to 12 maybe, but that's the point where it really starts to spread that peanut butter.

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 15 July 2009 23:55 (fifteen years ago)

ok I'm out.

Beanbag the Gardener (WmC), Thursday, 16 July 2009 00:07 (fifteen years ago)

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 6 August 2009 03:46 (fifteen years ago)

all right if anyone does, holler at me. not really a thing though, i guess i don't need to spend more time reading about NFL than i already do

daria, actually (daria-g), Sunday, 9 August 2009 00:09 (fifteen years ago)

daria, I've already dropped out once and been talked back in, but I'm still not feeling the thrill. Let me know when it's convenient for you to sign up and I'll drop out then (so nobody grabs your spot).

Roberto Spiralli, Tuesday, 11 August 2009 14:20 (fifteen years ago)

How come no one said anything about the draft time before? It's been the same since June.

Okay, so when would be better for everybody? Saturday morning? Saturday afternoon? I just picked Thursday thinking "oh, it's Thursday night...most people would be home on a Thursday night."

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 11 August 2009 17:33 (fifteen years ago)

Thursday is v good for me btw

Roberto Spiralli, Tuesday, 11 August 2009 18:13 (fifteen years ago)

omar little, Tuesday, 11 August 2009 22:29 (fifteen years ago)

OK, I just received word that my other league is instituting this RE-FUCKING-TARDED rule where the draft order doesn't get reversed in the even-numbered rounds, so if you draft #12 you still don't get to pick a second player until pick #24. They say it's a standard rule and tons of leagues do it. I say the rule gives a ridiculously unfair advantage to the top-seeded players. Is the ILNFL fantasy draft order like this? Please say it's not so!!

Mr. Snrub, Wednesday, 12 August 2009 02:52 (fifteen years ago)

That is total bullshit, Snrub.

Mordy, Wednesday, 12 August 2009 02:54 (fifteen years ago)

snake draft is the only way to do it, everyone fucking knows that.

wishes to be referred under the pseudonym of kronos (call all destroyer), Wednesday, 12 August 2009 03:24 (fifteen years ago)

Yahoo does snake style in mock drafts, so I'd assume it's the same for the real thing.

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 12 August 2009 04:01 (fifteen years ago)

well that's a relief. what's my draft number?

Mr. Snrub, Wednesday, 12 August 2009 04:02 (fifteen years ago)

They all get randomly assigned an hour or so before the draft.

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 12 August 2009 04:30 (fifteen years ago)

Two questions:

1. Why are the playoffs on weeks 16 and 17? Move them up a week! All the teams rest their players week 17.

2. Are we doing team defenses as well as individual players?

Yeah, they're issuing refunds for anyone who already paid for it.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 25 August 2009 04:00 (fifteen years ago)

So I drafted for my money game tonight. Went first four (9th pick in 12 team league): Chris Johnson, Brian Westbrook, T.O., and T.J. Housh. Donovan McNabb QB, Chris Cooley TE. No idea on my flex yet. Autopicked the Defense and Kicker since I didn't want to stick around and I didn't care who I got (the idiots drafted the "top" D and Kickers early).

Mordy, Sunday, 6 September 2009 05:56 (fifteen years ago)

Okay, I'm drafting third in my money league.
D'Angelo Williams with first pick?

Holy shit. Brady???

Mordy, Tuesday, 8 September 2009 22:16 (fifteen years ago)

ugh, this money draft is SLOW

That is awful. I am sorry. Help it up. That is mean. (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 8 September 2009 22:17 (fifteen years ago)

how much money do u all get? how much did brady go for? is it standard rosters/scoring or is there any weirdness?

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 8 September 2009 23:23 (fifteen years ago)

No, it's not a purchase draft; I mean this is the one where I'm SPENDING money. 1500 to first place.

Okay it's a 12 man league, .5 ppr, 3 WR, 2 RB, 1 IDP, 4 bench slots, my team:

Matt Ryan
Wes Welker, Anthony Gonzo, Vincent Jackson, Domenik Hixon
DeAngelo Williams, Steve Slaton, LenDale White, Earnest Graham
Owen Daniels
David Akers
Tennessee
Patrick Willis

I think I did OK?

That is awful. I am sorry. Help it up. That is mean. (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 8 September 2009 23:42 (fifteen years ago)

Standard scoring otherwise.

That is awful. I am sorry. Help it up. That is mean. (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 8 September 2009 23:42 (fifteen years ago)

Yeah, dude, you did pretty freaking amazing. Slaton didn't go in the first round? You must've been drafting with the slow kids :/

Mordy, Tuesday, 8 September 2009 23:43 (fifteen years ago)

lol i was going to criticize your WRs (gently of course) but a 12-team league starting 3 WRs is a little wacky.

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 8 September 2009 23:44 (fifteen years ago)

Wes Walker isn't bad considering he's starting Williams and Slaton at RB

Mordy, Tuesday, 8 September 2009 23:45 (fifteen years ago)

doing a quick calculation, this means that Slaton went 21 overall?

Mordy, Tuesday, 8 September 2009 23:46 (fifteen years ago)

yeah i mean welker is a low first tier/high 2nd tier guy and vjax and gonzo are definitely solid 2nd-tier guys.

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 8 September 2009 23:46 (fifteen years ago)

PPR bumps up Welker a bit in my eyes. Plus I think he's gonna get about eight to nine touchdowns this year minimum.
And pretty much the same for Gonzo.

That is awful. I am sorry. Help it up. That is mean. (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 8 September 2009 23:50 (fifteen years ago)

But yeah, WR is definitely my weak point. I'm also putting a lot of hope in Ryan this year; he's my ILX QB too.

That is awful. I am sorry. Help it up. That is mean. (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 8 September 2009 23:51 (fifteen years ago)

oh PPR? yeah you're fine then.

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 8 September 2009 23:52 (fifteen years ago)

.5 PPR
I didn't even notice it was a three WR league until the fourth round when I was going DAMN they are drafting some receivers...

That is awful. I am sorry. Help it up. That is mean. (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 8 September 2009 23:52 (fifteen years ago)

Slaton went 21st alright. I was kinda excited.

That is awful. I am sorry. Help it up. That is mean. (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 8 September 2009 23:53 (fifteen years ago)

yeah i've never seen that configuration. i think ryan should be a fine fantasy qb--average or better for sure. he gets a lot of help from the running game and is going to have excellent receivers.

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 8 September 2009 23:54 (fifteen years ago)

most of the starting receivers from the giants are still on the board and I'll be watching all their games; that's likely gonna be my go-to later on. Fuck an Earnest Graham; I had Ahmad Bradshaw pulled on the pick before.

That is awful. I am sorry. Help it up. That is mean. (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 8 September 2009 23:55 (fifteen years ago)

u also gotta remember cadillac is apparently ready to go and looking awesome so there's a good chance all tb rb's are useless for fantasy.

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 8 September 2009 23:57 (fifteen years ago)

Hmmm. Should I put Devin Hester or Fred Jackson in my flex for this week? (It's a PPR.)

Mordy, Wednesday, 9 September 2009 00:22 (fifteen years ago)

fred jackson should be starting for the bills, right?

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 9 September 2009 00:23 (fifteen years ago)

I think so. That's why I'm thinking of putting him at flex.

Mordy, Wednesday, 9 September 2009 00:25 (fifteen years ago)

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 9 September 2009 00:45 (fifteen years ago)

Also, they don't have a qb worth a damn yet, so expect a lot of running.

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 9 September 2009 00:46 (fifteen years ago)

I'm gonna try to grab him off the waivers.

Mordy, Wednesday, 9 September 2009 00:46 (fifteen years ago)

looks like they want to roll three backs giants-style with cadillac doing two series, ward doing two, and e. graham doing one. given the talent and injury risk of that group why the hell not?

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 9 September 2009 00:46 (fifteen years ago)

I'm 2 of 12 in the waiver order. Fingers crossed.

Mordy, Wednesday, 9 September 2009 00:47 (fifteen years ago)

I'm dropping lol Kevin Curtis for him. (Who might not even make the final Eagles roster I've heard?)

Mordy, Wednesday, 9 September 2009 00:47 (fifteen years ago)

that's a solid roster move

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 9 September 2009 00:49 (fifteen years ago)

The Bucs' secret weapon this year is a dude they picked up in the 7th round named Sammie Stroughter. He's listed as the 5th receiver right now, but will be doing punt and kick returns and he is SOLID (both running and receiving). I suspect he'll move up the depth chart by midseason at the latest.

I nabbed him in the ILX league as a wait-and-see, but I'm just throwing him out there for you guys in other leagues to keep an eye on.

I'm gonna need some advice for this week. My bench had a bunch of huge point earners that I didn't expect (Cadillac, Devin Hester and Tim Hightower). Maybe I can trade some for an A-list before they come down from their clouds.

Mordy, Monday, 14 September 2009 03:49 (fifteen years ago)

The two guys I picked before Brees went in round #2 scored a total of 16.80 fantasy points today. Brees scored 52.50 or something ridiculous like that.

Johnny Fever, Monday, 14 September 2009 03:49 (fifteen years ago)

I'd hang on to Cadillac until the Bucs have a quarterback who's worth a shit. Their game is all ground until that happens. xp

Johnny Fever, Monday, 14 September 2009 03:51 (fifteen years ago)

Think I should try to dish out Hightower, or do you think he has more 20+ point games in him? (Ditto Hester.)

Mordy, Monday, 14 September 2009 03:53 (fifteen years ago)

as far as my ilnfl team goes, i'm starting hester over braylon jazzhands at this point but i don't necessarily feel good about it

omar little, Monday, 14 September 2009 03:55 (fifteen years ago)

I gotta see how TO + Fred Jackson do tmmrw, I guess.

Mordy, Monday, 14 September 2009 03:57 (fifteen years ago)

Something tells me taking Steven Jackson over LDT is going to seriously bite me in the ass come playoff time.

Mr. Snrub, Monday, 14 September 2009 11:02 (fifteen years ago)

hester looked peculiarly competent yesterday. cutler did seem to prefer to look for bennett though, and that kid knox was getting all the deep looks. so it's difficult to guess how things are going to pan out amongst the chicago receivers but i think it would be worth hanging on to hester.

Cutler 1TD 277yds 4INTs- 18 points
Collins 1TD 244yds 1INT- 14 points

I started Cutler over Collins so I can't complain but this looks odd to me.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 16:31 (fifteen years ago)

Still, with 4 INTs, that does seem a little funky.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 16:34 (fifteen years ago)

Damn you, Snrub! I was going to go after Cribbs!

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 16 September 2009 16:31 (fifteen years ago)

I got my boy Cribbs and I got my boy Suisham and I'm still supposed to lose this week. Fuck.

Mr. Snrub, Wednesday, 16 September 2009 16:39 (fifteen years ago)

some of these projections are weird. what's also weird is how in this particular league, a team's third-string wideout can be more valuable than some team's number ones if the former racks up a ton of return yardage.

Next year, I'm just keeping who I draft. I let go of McGahee to pick up Glen Coffee at SF because I'm a Tide stan (not knowing Frank Gore still had the juice, which he most certainly does), and McGahee beat me today. I traded Eli for McNabb, and now McNabb is benched a broken rib while Eli's winning games. *grump*

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 27 September 2009 16:58 (fifteen years ago)

(Sanchez already 2 tds... Leftwich has 7 yds... my assumption that the Bucs will be playing from behind all game may still pay off, but dammit!!)

Love this story from Matt Berry:

So my fellow FF Now analyst Tim Hasselbeck is in a fantasy football league this year with, among other folks, his brother, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck. It should shock no one that Matt went QB-heavy with his team, drafting not only himself but also his former real-life Packers teammate, Brett Favre.

Like many people I meet, it's Matt's first-year playing fantasy. But he showed the objectivity of a wily veteran when, in Week 5, he decided to bench himself for the ol' gunslinger. It made sense. Favre was coming off a red-hot dismantling of Green Bay on "Monday Night Football," had seven scores in his past three games and was facing the Rams, among the worst pass defenses in the league.

I'll save you the trouble of looking it up. Brett threw for 232 yards, only one score (plus a pick) and finished with 11 fantasy points in ESPN standard scoring. Sixteen different quarterbacks finished with more points than Brett that week, including such names as Josh Johnson, Chad Henne and Daunte Culpepper (against the Steelers!).

And sitting on Matt Hasselbeck's bench was, well, Matt Hasselbeck, who threw for four scores against the Jaguars and finished with 27 fantasy points. More than Tom Brady, Peyton Manning or any other quarterback that week.

hey yall,

so today i made a trade: i traded favre for hines ward & darren sproles. we start two qbs & my other two are brady & cutler. i figure that i'm selling high on favre and that if the vikings clinch a p spot they might go easy on the throwing & what not round fantasy playoff time. my wide receivers were boldin, steve smith, mike wallace & manningham, so i felt like i needed an upgrade there (we start 3) (my running backs - we start two, but i use one for w/r - are ronnie brown, stephen jackson & ray rice, so i'm good there). anyway, good trade? bad trade?

nog right (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 12 November 2009 00:21 (fifteen years ago)

well you're in good shape as long as cutler doesn't have too many more terrible games. sproles is pure depth--hard to predict week to week and you're in good shape there. you def needed a receiver upgrade--as a boldin and manningham owner in a 2-wr league i would not mind having hines at all.

call all destroyer, Thursday, 12 November 2009 00:25 (fifteen years ago)

yeah i have fitz + manningham/austin collie in a 2-wr in my other league and i'm desperately trying to wheel something (offered jonathan stewart for sidney rice but i gotta badger the dude to check his team so he can accept/deny trade)

yeah someone saw this in our pickem league too

omaha deserved 311 (call all destroyer), Thursday, 26 November 2009 17:16 (fifteen years ago)

johnny crunch, Thursday, 26 November 2009 17:19 (fifteen years ago)

i couldn't move any of my detroit players and it's not kickoff yet, wtf? oh well

yeah, whatever (daria-g), Thursday, 26 November 2009 17:35 (fifteen years ago)

jon beason had 17 tackles and a fumble recovery

johnny crunch, Monday, 30 November 2009 01:21 (fifteen years ago)

Of course I had Santonio Holmes on teh bench this week. He's been a dud for weeks, and now that the 3rd qb is in he gets to the endzone. FML

Johnny Fever, Monday, 30 November 2009 03:10 (fifteen years ago)

180 points!! season high, bitches!!

Mr. Snrub, Tuesday, 1 December 2009 04:36 (fifteen years ago)

wau

daria beat me this week thanks to a player I trader her before week 1. grr!

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 1 December 2009 04:45 (fifteen years ago)

oh well. i think overall the manning/mcnabb trade isn't working out in my favor

yeah, whatever (daria-g), Tuesday, 1 December 2009 04:57 (fifteen years ago)

o man, i needed this win to stay in contention in my money league and it came down to Randy Moss vs. John frickin' Carney and Carney pulled it out!
next week is win and get in, lose and get bounced.

ilx mooncup (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 1 December 2009 13:37 (fifteen years ago)

this was my first year doing a fantasy team. it's been a horrible disaster.

2 wins so far.

as owner, i stepped in and fired myself and coach and then promoted myself from defensive coordinator to interim head coach. i hope the team will rally around this decision.

Mountain Dewm (M@tt He1ges0n), Tuesday, 1 December 2009 17:38 (fifteen years ago)

I had a bad year my first year, but then I won the whole shebang my second year. You're speed-learning right now.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 1 December 2009 18:45 (fifteen years ago)

i have some of the year's big fantasy busts on my roster: westbrook, jacobs (kinda a bust), eddie royal from denver, anquan boldin, marshawn lynch

Mountain Dewm (M@tt He1ges0n), Tuesday, 1 December 2009 20:28 (fifteen years ago)

man, you ain't kidding about jacobs

ilx mooncup (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 1 December 2009 22:30 (fifteen years ago)

the first time i participated in fantasy football i drafted a lot of question mark kinda guys based on past performance alone (all of those guys had big question marks before the season imo, for various reasons.) once you've gone through a season of it, though, you start to recognize guys to hunt for and you can avoid past mistakes. though we all make them, a lot of it has to do with luck. i was lucky enough to pick brady as my QB in the third round in the year when he tossed 50 TDs and unlucky enough to draft him in the first round last year.

jØrdån (omar little), Tuesday, 1 December 2009 22:39 (fifteen years ago)

my QB's (collins, palmer and cutler) are brutal plus I only have one real RB (Pierre Thomas). i have a top notch receiving corps which has kept me in ball games - I should've traded at least of them this year for some help

NEW YORK DESERVED MANGINI (brownie), Tuesday, 1 December 2009 23:36 (fifteen years ago)

i'll give you rofflesberger for palmer and a decent wideout ;)

jØrdån (omar little), Tuesday, 1 December 2009 23:40 (fifteen years ago)

I took a flyer on Adrian Peterson his rookie year (my second time playing, got him 3rd or 4th round), and that was pretty much what locked me into a league championship title.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 1 December 2009 23:42 (fifteen years ago)

i picked up priest holmes in round 12 or something the first year he went off for the chiefs. i rode him to the title.

jØrdån (omar little), Tuesday, 1 December 2009 23:45 (fifteen years ago)

one thing that i really learned was that dudes like westbrook and boldin that are constantly "questionable" on the injury report make it damn near impossible to manage your team...i'm staying clear of dudes like that next year, it's such a headache.

one nice surprise for me this year has been:

donald driver

Mountain Dewm (M@tt He1ges0n), Wednesday, 2 December 2009 17:08 (fifteen years ago)

my major headache has been Owen Daniels getting aced, Slaton starting slow and Matt Ryan being a bummer.

Drama Mama's and Papa's too! (forksclovetofu), Wednesday, 2 December 2009 17:10 (fifteen years ago)

I'm glad I'm already in the playoffs, because my dudes were all asleep today (the dudes I have left, anyway).

Johnny Fever, Monday, 14 December 2009 00:57 (fifteen years ago)

160+ points today. I'm going out in style.

voices from the manstep (brownie), Monday, 14 December 2009 03:38 (fifteen years ago)

Waivers was hung up in the Yahoo mechanism somehow this week, and the only way I could jog it was to push everyone's waiver date to tomorrow or sack them altogether. So... lotsa free agents now.

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 16 December 2009 12:42 (fifteen years ago)

that is weird, waivers went thru fine in my other yahoo league

johnny crunch, Wednesday, 16 December 2009 13:20 (fifteen years ago)

Well, it looks like it didn't send players with pending claims on them into free agency anyway, so hopefully they'll bump through tomorrow.

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 16 December 2009 17:06 (fifteen years ago)

colts game sure lit up the playoffs

voices from the manstep (brownie), Friday, 18 December 2009 13:56 (fifteen years ago)

so glad i started peyton

johnny crunch, Friday, 18 December 2009 14:31 (fifteen years ago)

I have MJD and Dallas Clark on my team in another league, so it was a great night. Wish I had them in this one, though.

Johnny Fever, Friday, 18 December 2009 14:38 (fifteen years ago)

Now I understand why people hoard good players throughout the season even if they never use them. I could use just one half-decent running back right now, because Ronnie Brown went down and the Colts never used Donald Brown as much predicted in the preseason. Now I'm stuck with a revolving door on two slots of guys who usually perform well the week before I pick them up off waivers.

My ILNFL season is as good as over now. Congrats players who do better than me! You earned it.

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 20 December 2009 22:25 (fifteen years ago)

damn 135 points but no win. jerome harrison sits on my bench :(

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 29 December 2009 21:28 (fifteen years ago)

it definitely hurt that i had to start beanie wells & jason snelling at RB for the last few weeks b/c of michael turner's injury and unsuccessful attempts to hurriedly return from said injury. eff him!
