Green Bay Packers at Cleveland Browns - The Browns might win this... okay, no they won't.San Diego Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs - Rivers will have his revenge on the unfortunate Chefs.Indianapolis Colts at St. Louis Rams - The Rams taking Jax to OT last week was a fluke. Won't score more than 9 against Indy.Minnesota Vikings at Pittsburgh Steelers - Picking the Magic Vikes until they lose.New England Patriots at Tampa Bay Bucs - Hoping the Pats deliver another 59-0 thumping and the Bucs are too embarrassed to return to the US.San Francisco 49ers at Houston Texans - I dunno why I'm picking the Niners on the road, except that Frank Gore will probably be back.Buffalo Bills at Carolina Panthers - Panthers ain't great, but I think they've got this.New York Jets at Oakland Raiders - Jets seems to be spiraling downward and going across the country to a hostile environment probably won't help matters.Atlanta Falcons at Dallas Cowboys - The Falcons may not win this, but I'm picking them in hopes of seeing Dallas lose at Jerryworld™.Chicago Bears at Cincinnati Bengals - Love you Ochocinco, but this is gonna be a tough afternoon.New Orleans Saints at Miami Dolphins - The Saints (yes, the Saints!) are probably the best DEF Miami will have faced this year. Chad Henne will have to win with his arm if he's to win at all.Arizona Cardinals at New York Giants - Giants rebound at home against jetlagged Cards.Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Redskins - Iggles can't have two rifuckingdiculous games in a row, right?
10-4 last week, 65-25 for the year.

Green Bay Packers at Cleveland Browns - Pack Attack!San Diego Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs - ChahjehsIndianapolis Colts at St. Louis Rams - Wish it'd be the Rams, but Colts easy.Minnesota Vikings at Pittsburgh Steelers - If there's a D that knocks Favre out this season, it'll be the Stillers. Pittsburgh.New England Patriots at Tampa Bay Bucs - PATSSan Francisco 49ers at Houston Texans - Close one. I'll take Houston.Buffalo Bills at Carolina Panthers - Carolina, as long as they pound the ball and don't let Delhomme throw 6 INTs and lose 2 fumbles.New York Jets at Oakland Raiders - Not as close of a game as this past weekend's games would make it seem. This'll be an easy win for NYJ. Just need to tighten the reins on Sanchez a bit and hand the ball off to TJ & Leon some more.Atlanta Falcons at Dallas Cowboys - Cowboys suck. Falcons here.Chicago Bears at Cincinnati Bengals - No more Odom for Cincy = shaky D and no QB pressure. Hope Cincy proves me wrong, but I'm goin' with da Bears.New Orleans Saints at Miami Dolphins - Goin' out on a limb and takin' the Fish.Arizona Cardinals at New York Giants - Giants pick themselves up by their bootstraps this week. Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Redskins - Gotta be Philly. And goodbye, Zorn.

8-6 last week, 62-28 on the season.
Green Bay Packers* at Cleveland Browns - eric mangini is the worst coach on the face of the planet. i think at halftime his own players will murder him.San Diego Chargers* at Kansas City Chiefs - i actually thought about this one for a second. i still wouldn't be surprised at a KC upset.Indianapolis Colts* at St. Louis Rams - this will get ugly Minnesota Vikings* at Pittsburgh Steelers - gonna stick with the vikings for now, they're looking really good.New England Patriots* at Tampa Bay Bucs - this will also get uglySan Francisco 49ers at Houston Texans* - don't think the niners' D can stop the texans' OBuffalo Bills at Carolina Panthers* - i would love to see the bills win. i think it will take a lot of work, though, mostly from jake delhomme.New York Jets* at Oakland Raiders - i just don't see oakland winning this one.Atlanta Falcons* at Dallas Cowboys - the cowboys will get destroyed (i hope)Chicago Bears* at Cincinnati Bengals - the bears will win this one, but it might be closer than i think it will be.New Orleans Saints* at Miami Dolphins - miami might play new orleans a little tough! but i don't think they can win.Arizona Cardinals at New York Giants* - if the cards were playing at home, they might have a better shot.Philadelphia Eagles* at Washington Redskins - unless mcnabb begins the kneeldown to end the game and on the third kneeldown, kneels down in the end zone which results in a redskins victory via safety, i don't think this will go in washington's favor.

Green Bay Packers at Cleveland Browns- Cleveland has played better in the last couple of weeks, but I don't think they can get over the Packers.San Diego Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs- KC is improved and SD is very mediocre at best, so this is a tougher game to call as KC is historically a pretty tough place for division teams to play. I'm leaning SD as I figure Rivers and their receivers are pretty ace.Indianapolis Colts at St. Louis Rams- the Rams would need to have everything completely fall their way, it could happen but it probably won't, so Colts it is.Minnesota Vikings at Pittsburgh Steelers- The Steelers are still kind of ordinary compared to recent years and Minnesota is rolling. It's pretty tough to take the Vikings to go into Pittsburgh and win this one, so I will take the Steelers.New England Patriots at Tampa Bay Bucs- Pats should win this one, although it would be a scream if they lost.San Francisco 49ers at Houston Texans- three weeks ago you would go 49ers no doubt. I'll take the Texans but they are pretty much completely unreliable week to week on how good they might play.Buffalo Bills at Carolina Panthers - Neither club is that good, but I will go with the Panthers for their run game.New York Jets at Oakland Raiders - I'll take the Jets and if they lose, apocalypse now. Atlanta Falcons at Dallas Cowboys - Falcons but it is possible the Cowboys might come off the bye with an idea what to do. Atlanta really didn't win over Chicago as much as the Bears blew it.Chicago Bears at Cincinnati Bengals - These clubs are pretty similar down to some key losses on defense. It will probably be a pretty decent game and is a rare match up of clubs I actively follow. I'll go with the heart and take the Bears, sorry Cinci.New Orleans Saints at Miami Dolphins - Saints until they prove to be wrong, but Miami could be an odd enough team to make it close if they can control the ball like they did against the Colts.Arizona Cardinals at New York Giants- I wouldn't want to be the Cards, the Giants got smoked last week and I think they will take it out on Warner. NY it is.Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Redskins- Will Zorn even have a headset? The Eagles need to remember to run the freaking ball a bit. I could see the Redskins D keeping this closer than you might expect, but you have to go with the Eagles looking at the whole picture and not last weeks stumble.
Last week, DUMPSTER FIRE 6-8 for the season 61-29

On adapting to the cultural differences"I wasn't really even thinking about leaving the hotel, to be honest. Really, just stay in the hotel all day. So I don't have to worry about walking across nobody's street. It's not a vacation, it's a business trip. That's how I'm taking it. If I want to go sightseeing in London, I'll have to go on my own time. Right now I'm on Patriots' time."On whether he'll join his teammates on a double-decker bus"What is a double-decker bus? Do it cost [a lot]? I heard they're already cheating me. I gotta give them like $1.60 to get one pound. That's not fair, that's highway robbery. The dollar isn't even worth a pound. I'm not looking to spend any money."

it was quite surprising that the vikings chose to use their "don't touch anyone else!" defense on the last steelers drive there, if i may say so myself.

Alex Smith just threw a touchdown for SF.
Guys, would $44 be too much to pay for seeing the Saints obliterate the Bucs in person? I'm thinking of going to another game this season (saw Jax last year), but I wonder if the price will drop as game time gets closer.
― Johnny Fever, Sunday, 25 October 2009 18:49 (sixteen years ago)
hav no particular insight into market timing of these tickets but id drop $44 on that opportunity

is it a bucs home game? maybe price will drop. i was going to meet up with a friend to watch monday night football, and the way skins ticket prices are going, actually attending the game might be only slightly more expensive than a bar tab
― what kind of money? obama money! (daria-g), Sunday, 25 October 2009 18:55 (sixteen years ago)
Yeah, it's a Bucs home game. I'm thinking that the way the Bucs' season is going, they could actually be half that price by the week of the game.

It is weird that there are more blowouts than there were last week and I am still enjoying this Sunday way more than last Sunday. Some of that probably has to be that the Vikings lost a close one this time. I'm not proud of that or anything but still.

this miami-saints game really reminds me of the giants-pats super bowl, though a bit more exaggerated. basically a good pass rush is the only thing that can neutralize a locked in passing game - right now the miami d is playing super aggressive & fast & confident - also the offense is getting great field position

Redzone is one of the best purchases I have ever made.
I ordered the extra Sports Pack from Comcast mostly for NBA TV (Payton & Webber!!!) and the chance that the Fox Sports Regional networks would let me watch more UCLA basketball games but NFL Redzone has been the MVP of that purchase, by far.

Buffalo Bills
Byrd was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the second round (42nd overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft. He began 2009 training camp on the Active/Non-Football Injury list, but was activated on August 17.
In a Week 6 rivalry game versus the New York Jets, Byrd intercepted two Mark Sanchez passes. One of the interceptions was intended for Braylon Edwards.
In Week 7, Byrd had another two picks against the weak arm of Jake Delhomo.

when a game like the bengals-bears happens is usually because one team thinks that they can legitimize themselves by beating the other, while the other thinks that they are just going to walk in and win by virtue of the logo on the helmet, and thus there is a huge motivation & enthusiasm gap that results in a total route. that's basically what that game looked like to me.
― a goon boy (J0rdan S.), Monday, 26 October 2009 12:14 (sixteen years ago)
you're probably right, tho honestly i can't figure out the bears AT ALL. florio or one of his drones yesterday pointed out how good ced benson and kyle orton have looked since getting away from norv's bro ron, and how shitty cutler has looked at times this season. not sure if there's anything to it but i was like "hmmm"
― call all destroyer, Monday, 26 October 2009 13:23 (sixteen years ago)
cutler is the same, but instead having to compensate for having no d and no running back, now he has to add bad o-line and poor receivers.
orton has all day long to be his super careful self, receivers who can separate, who come back, and who get yards after catch.
this is precisely what cutler trade apologists predicted, which irks.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Chiefs running back Larry Johnson has belittled his rookie head coach on his Twitter account, saying Todd Haley has "nuthn" when it comes to NFL-quality credentials.
The remarks were posted several hours after the Chiefs (1-6) were routed at home 37-7 by San Diego.
One tweet read: "My father got more creditentials than most of these pro coaches." That is followed by: "My father played for the coach from "rememeber the titans". Our coach played golf. My father played for redskins briefley. Our coach. Nuthn."
Haley did not play high school or college football. He attended college on a golf scholarship. He was hired by first-year general manager Scott Pioli to replace the fired Herm Edwards.
"I talked to Larry about it and he was focusing more on pumping up his father than anything else," Johnson's agent Peter Schaffer said. "He wasn't trying to downgrade anyone ... yes, everyone is frustrated after a loss like this but I wouldn't put too much into it."
Johnson had 49 yards on 16 carries in the Chiefs' defeat. Kansas City has a bye next week.
A spokesman for the Chiefs said Monday it was not certain if the tweets, posted under the alias of "Toonicon" were posted by Johnson. The Kansas City Star reported, however, that Johnson had said the online alias is his and the account includes a link to Johnson's personal Web site.
The final post read: "Make me regret it. Lmao. U don't stop my checks. Lmao. So 'tweet' away."
The tweets drew responses, including one that referred to a nightclub incident in which Johnson was accused of spitting in someone's face. Johnson's response include a three-letter homophobic slur.

Going back even before Lovie Smith, the Bears pretty much seem to get completely crippled by injuries every other season and this seems to be the banged up year. The defense is getting pretty banged up and thin and they haven't had a sack in two games and have been run over the past two years.
Cutler is going to get the big blame. The press is pretty fickle, as they hated him in week 1 and then was thinking he was great two weeks later and now he is back to sucking it up big time. Can't hide from the interceptions, but part of it is they are winging it up deep all the time. He should get some of the blame, but it goes pretty deep.
Orlando Pace seems to get a dumb penalty every time they get into the red zone the past couple of weeks.

in fairness it might also help the eagles to have a 70 year old bingo caller shout out their plays instead of andy reid, so the skins might be onto something here.
