I like Chicago's (oldtimestyle), Colt's (minimalism), Bolt's (cartoons on saturday morning), iggles (awesome green), Titans (just really awesome contrast, bold, onfire T!), and lions (Atari-looking logo)

the color scheme kinda saves the texans. they really should have a silhouette of texas on their helmet, idgw they don't. worst: between the ravens, panthers, and jaguars imo.

I liked the Jets' mid-history unis, before they went back to the original scheme. Well, the helmets mostly. All the green overload was unnecessary.

I like the old Eagles helmet better. That's my reaction to a lot of these - "well, the throwback is great, but..."

i'm not really a fan of the modern swooshy designs. have a soft spot for the rams helmet. hate to say it but colts is a pretty classic look. but can't touch cleveland. jets is by some distance the worst non-racist helmet.

is the winged helmet look just way too associated w/ michigan for anyone to try it in the nfl? anyhow voted chargers just barely over steelers, vikings, browns (penn state and bama have my fave football unis/helmets in college and browns are closest to that ethos). chargers power blue uni = pinnacle of nfl unis imo.

The ones that try to be a Halloween mask like the 2D Viking and Rams horns or the Eagles mimicking some sort of bird with wings coming out of the temples of a linebacker, those fail to me.

And everytime I see a Colts helmet, from Unitas to Manning, I think of an actual colt kicking backwards and leaving its impression on the player's skull.

Y'know, I hate to say it because I loathe Dallas with every ounce of my being, but their helmet is an almost perfect design.

The Falcons logo change was funny because it was a blatant part of their campaign to broaden their appeal to urban audiences after Vick came on board. There's a lot of lolsome behind-the-scenes stories from that era, like when Arthur Blank hired someone to teach Vick to talk more "white"

The modern Patriots helmet is very USFL (an LA Express/Jacksonville Bulls-like hybrid, IIRC).

Also, NFL helmets are too damn shiny (Vikings are a huge offender). I do believe only one team does it even close to matte style- which is a huge plus imo.

I used to stare at pics of NFL helmets as a little kid and I remember my favorites being the Steelers and Saints. Trying to be completely unbiased, I think my favorites are: Saints, Cowboys, Browns, Colts, and Bears, in that order.

I think the Pats is my least favorite, but the 80s Pats would possibly be up near the top for me in a throwback version of this poll.

Yes! I totally forgot about those things. Only I think I used to get them out of a gum ball type machine. I think I had a bunch of those things. For some reason I always remember pulling the facemasks off.

My football team as a little kid had the Cardinals logo, but it was on a silver helmet. Always had kind of a soft spot for their logo for that reason.

i love the Nfc south btw (if it exists) It's just that i'm drunk and need examples

when i was six my next door neighbors (whose son was then a linebacker at pitt) gave me a set of magnetic helmets. i would put them on the refrigerator in division order, nfc west on the left, then central and east, then the afc with the east on the far right. on gameday i put them lower down, with whoever was playing lined up against each other, then returned them to the standings when the game was over.

this is when the bengals had "bengals" written on their helmets, bills/bucs had white helmets, etc.

they are still at my dad's house. i need to find panthers/texans/titans/ravens to go with them tho

i must have somewhere. nfl was a thing for a couple years in the uk in the mid 80s, i think buoyed by the charismatic bears team. enter super bowl xx, every 7yo is a huge bears fan except precocious contrarian shut-ins. humiliation at school the next day, either turn away or double down, nurse that wound. fad passes for everyone else, i still have my pat shaped scar.

wow i didn't realize full d fantasy football was ever a thing. it's incredible that any fantasy sports happened before the internet. i remember doing fantasy soccer leagues in british newspapers where you had to mail or phone in your changes during the year.

my first (and final FFB until yahoo years later) was pretty cool. had a team w/andre rison and esteemed rams RB robert delpino.

my main claim to fame was that i saw jerry rice play as a rookie in 85, quietly coveted him and took him relatively late in the 86 draft and saw him explode. also had joe morris the year he had 20 touchdowns and ken o'brien when he and marino would combine for 1000 yards whenever the lol jets and dolphins played
