I think it's about this time every season where I look at the list of scheduled games and say "ugh, all the mediocrity!", but this year I really mean it.

Last week 10-4 (hits Detroit & Tampa – misses Titans, Philly, SD, KC) Not bad. 71-47 for the season.

Kansas City Chiefs @ San Diego Chargers - Don’t like either team at all and both pretty much suck. I guess SD at home.
Arizona Cardinals @ Green Bay Packers- Green Bay, Cinderella’s moved back home.
Detroit Lions @ Jacksonville Jaguars- I’ll go Lions, as this seems to be a game Detroit ‘should’ win, but this seems like one they could lay an egg on.
Chicago Bears @ Tennessee Titans- I’ll go Chicago, but I could see this one being closer than the record would indicate. Titans are kind of hard to figure.
Denver Broncos @ Cincinnati Bengals- Denver looked pretty good this week and I don’t think I considered how many changes they actually did on defense for how it wasn’t looking right early on this year (which was a strength last year). Cincy is just not clicking together.
Carolina Panthers @ Washington Redskins- This is probably a good matchup and game. Carolina is about as good a 1-6 team as you will ever see. I’ll take Washington, but I figure it is a pickem in the end.
Baltimore Ravens @ Cleveland Browns- I’m going Ravens but I hope the Browns beat ‘em.
Miami Dolphins @ Indianapolis Colts- This is kind of the flip game to the Carolina/Washington young QB matchup. I will take Miami as I think overall they are a bit better club, but I think this is a total pickem game. One of these clubs could end up hanging around the wild card at the end of the year, which is something neither would have been credited before the season starts.
Buffalo Bills @ Houston Texans- Houston should win, but I am curious to see if Buffalo busts out and drops some points on them like they have other clubs.
Minnesota Vikings @ Seattle Seahawks – What have you done for me lately? I figure Seattle at home.
Tampa Bay Bucs @ Oakland Raiders- This could be a decent game to watch and possibly a nasty one too. I’m liking the Bucs as Freeman is playing pretty good the past few games.
Pittsburgh Steelers @ New York Giants- I’m taking the Giants, but this seems like the type of game and situation that could be a loss.
Dallas Cowboys @ Atlanta Falcons- I’ll take the Falcons but I will believe it if the Cowboys somehow win it in a fluky manner giving ESPN reason to talk about Dallas like they are a 3 time super bowl winner for another couple months.
Philadelphia Eagles @ New Orleans Saints- I’m going Saints. I want to take Philly to win this one, as this is the type of game they have won over the past few years, but I think the magic may finally be gone.

earlnash, Friday, 2 November 2012 02:45 (twelve years ago)

game last night was predictably excruciating to watch. altho kcc's defense has been up and down this year, they were probably the individual unit that had the best game last night. i can't fathom how they can't put together just a moderately competent offense, even with cassel. they have so many of the right pieces.

TALKING POINT: jermichael finley has never actually been any good. he was a great prospect but raw for a while, and then he got injured, and now he is "not the same player since his injury". at no point in his career has he really produced the goods.

lil dirk (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 03:59 (twelve years ago)

how do you have an illegal man downfield on a play from the 5-yard line? eagles forever setting records

lil dirk (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 04:25 (twelve years ago)

an absolute banner drive from demetress bell

lil dirk (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 04:26 (twelve years ago)

well the andy reid era, it happened

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 6 November 2012 04:27 (twelve years ago)

vick actually played well tonight i think, all things considered

lil dirk (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 04:27 (twelve years ago)

yeah he did

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 6 November 2012 04:28 (twelve years ago)

what the christ is stu scott wearing

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 6 November 2012 04:29 (twelve years ago)

that 1 yard goal line pick 6 and penalty assessed on kickoff will be my takeaway from this game

Mordy, Tuesday, 6 November 2012 04:29 (twelve years ago)

has anybody suggested that andy reid starting the season with a dead son may be a contributing factor? or is that totally off-limits

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 6 November 2012 04:30 (twelve years ago)

the cowboys & the eagles feel like essentially the same team to me. talent all over the place but just rotting from the inside. can probably keep some of the principal players but desperately need a change at the top.

lil dirk (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 04:31 (twelve years ago)

nfc least

i was thinking that but honestly it's not like anything has changed from last year to this one.

lil dirk (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 04:32 (twelve years ago)

i don't think anyone has suggested it bc it can't retroactively explain last season xxxp

Mordy, Tuesday, 6 November 2012 04:32 (twelve years ago)

yeah that's reasonable, it just seems that from a totally unfair outside perspective this guy should not be coaching football right now

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 6 November 2012 04:33 (twelve years ago)

i feel like these NFL coaches also are pretty expert at blocking out every and all turmoil in their lives. joe philbin's son died in the offseason as well and you would never have known it watching hard knocks aside from one mention of it in the first episode after reid's son died

lil dirk (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 04:34 (twelve years ago)

aaaaaaaand there's gruden

lil dirk (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 04:36 (twelve years ago)

"if you don't know joe vitt, get to know him"

yeah agree w/this in general but like everyone has their limits. didn't know that about philbin, what were the circumstances?

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 6 November 2012 04:39 (twelve years ago)

eagles/cowboys next week; SOMEONE HAS TO WIN

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 6 November 2012 04:41 (twelve years ago)

oh my god that might be my most anticipated NFL game of the decade so far

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 6 November 2012 04:43 (twelve years ago)

lil dirk (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 04:43 (twelve years ago)

xp oh ok i remember that now

call all destroyer, Tuesday, 6 November 2012 04:43 (twelve years ago)

how come no one gives the reasonable explanation that vick is tormented on the field by the spirits of the dogs he killed?

Mordy, Tuesday, 6 November 2012 04:45 (twelve years ago)

btw chris ivory is good, they should really play that guy

i guess i'm biased as an eagles fan but i think talent-wise the cowboys aren't up there w/ the eagles. the cowboys are like the knicks and the eagles are like...the clippers i guess

all mods con (k3vin k.), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 05:09 (twelve years ago)

ugh fucking knicks

Mordy, Tuesday, 6 November 2012 05:10 (twelve years ago)

romo is totally melo

all mods con (k3vin k.), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 05:11 (twelve years ago)

dallas' defense has waayyyyy more talent

lil dirk (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 6 November 2012 05:27 (twelve years ago)

I seriously can't believe that the Saints have won 3 of the past 4 with the defense we've been fielding.

Fetchboy, Tuesday, 6 November 2012 05:37 (twelve years ago)

Poor Demetress Bell. First he has a terrible game and gets called out by Gruden, and then I look on his Wikipedia page 'cause I'm bored.... whoa! Who knew Karl Malone was such an unbelievable dick?
