eh I would say ilx mods are pretty good, like there's always that one angry mod but I think it's like a magic ring that's passed down and not something we can even avoid. for the most part they are among the more responsible ppl here and this place doesn't require hardcore modding to begin w/. but forks using his powers for weird jokes and not being willing to cop to it and say 'sorry my bad, I'll stop' isn't doing him any favors.

There are around 800,000 cops in America. Something like 30,000 cases of police brutality reported in 2006. You have to assume that some of those are false, but you also have to assume that some don't get reported, so I'm fine with 30,000. That's like 3%. Now obviously, a number of those cases of police brutality are going to be attributable to the same bad cop. So, less than 3%. That's a goddamned good rate!

I'm not talking about disagreement, I'm talking about aggressively ganging up.

I think the circling the wagons thing happened because no one actually thought Grady was particularly pissed off because, well, it was something so mindlessly trivial. I don't think anyone's been condoning what Forks did, it just... didn't seem to matter very much.

I mean mods aren't cops and the comparison is pretty facile, there isn't a systemic bias against people who complain because if a mod did seriously overstep boundaries and abuse their power it would be undone pretty damn quickly and in particular cases that mod would be stripped of their powers altogether (as had actually happened in the past).

shortly after i posted on this thread last week my 'my recent posts' search function stopped working but then yesterday it was magically restored very soon after darragh posted his question. however now i can only see those 'my recent posts' made after the restoration, if i try to go back further i get an error message, so it was a bit of a fizzer as far as restorations go.
