Criminal neglect of Danny Fox to Forest here.

Anyway, I think Bale wasn't £7m in the end but £6m plus Tommy Forecast about which I've said more than plenty in the past. So obviously I've gone for Chambers, a versatile lad who can plug gaps all over until he inevitably does his hamstring in mid-November which has somehow become a shot cruciate by February.

putting Bale here is egregious

going to vote Schneiderlin, who's never not impressed me

yeah ignore bale pls that was weak

reserving judgement on inbound spurs lads without prices so gonna say that 2.5m a year for Shaw will look OK in 2026

Thing about Schneiderlin is he can be be be both defensive midfielder and deep lying playmaker at the same time, which is exactly what we need. Stick him with Sandro and Eriksen and that's a classy but robust midfield. Plus he's young and could be worth a fortune in a few years time.

Also I like how the entire squad was up for sale and Wenger bought the teenage fullback no one had paid much attention to before.

one of those votes was blind arsenal loyalty rather than any informed judgment, tbh

suspicion the right answer is Lovren actually

Ismael Klata, Thursday, 31 July 2014 08:14 (ten years ago)

not xp as demonstrated

Lovren is a good player but not a £20m defender. Rickie Lambert at £4m isn't too bad if they actually use him.

Matt DC, Thursday, 31 July 2014 08:40 (ten years ago)

And that's assuming they only get a season or so out of him.

Southampton are looking to press ahead with their summer recruitment process with the signings of Fraser Forster and Virgil van Dijk.

Just what we need after a 4-1 humping - selling the two guys who stopped it being 8-1.

Boruc plus cash for Forster might suit all sides...
