Because the Wolves' 2nd round draw happens today! Can't wait to take on Crusaders.

PSV's tragic start to the season (cunted out of the CL) sees us playing against Haugesand in Norway rn.

A Wolves vs PSV final still very much on the cards.

Yeah I read that this morning, I mean it's not exactly eco-admirable is it? Like the bit where it was a trip to Hull he missed tho

Hopefully be back up by 2nd half

Jimenez! That was sweet

FUCK YOUR POTATO (Neanderthal), Thursday, 22 August 2019 20:35 (five years ago)

ugh dumb pen at '89, makes for a tighter 2nd leg than it should be.

thank goodness for 3 away goals

FUCK YOUR POTATO (Neanderthal), Thursday, 22 August 2019 20:52 (five years ago)

Tempting to think of Wolves as plucky underdogs when of course they're easily the richest club in the competition at this stage.

I was doing something else last night, that's a solid result tho, Torino was a big step up.

what's wrong with being centre-y? (Noodle Vague), Friday, 23 August 2019 10:19 (five years ago)

Def was more lopsided than the score made it look. Now just not to Barca the 2nd leg away

Their counterattack was p balls out at times which is encouraging.

FUCK YOUR POTATO (Neanderthal), Friday, 23 August 2019 17:34 (five years ago)

Sounds like it was a good game tonight, and now we're in the draw tomorrow. Woooooo.

Joe Proroguin' (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 29 August 2019 20:37 (five years ago)

I watched long enough to see the Dendoncker goal. The attack was solid. Hope they do that to Everton now.

Defending got a bit sloppy again, but they were already up 2 in aggregate at the time.

FUCK YOUR POTATO (Neanderthal), Thursday, 29 August 2019 21:50 (five years ago)

not even gonna try to understand how this draw works

Le Bateau Ivre, Thursday, 3 October 2019 21:11 (five years ago)

Not taking anything away from AZ, who seem to be a decent young side

We didn't manage a single shot on target. Only managed one attempt worthy of the name. I've watched a lot of shit Utd performances in the post-Fergie era but that is down there with any of them

Genuinely remarkable showing from Fred too. Actually incapable of completing a pass greater than five yards

And Solskjaer literally looks like the ghost of David Moyes

I see Solskjaer has said he was "pleased" with ManU's performance, so it's all good! Seriously though, it doesn't matter how bad a pitch is if you can't manage a single shot on target. Dark days.

Some interesting results in the Conference League tonight.

Śląsk Wrocław beat St. Gallen 3-2 but St. Gallen went through 4-3 on aggregate thanks to a penalty in the 18th minute of injury time. Slask had three players sent off, the last of them in the 22nd minute of injury time.

Hapoel Be'er Sheva also had three players sent off while losing to Mladá Boleslav.

Pafos were going out against CSKA 1948 until a goal in the 7th minute of injury time, and then promptly scored three more without reply in extra time.

Ajax beat Panathinaikos 13-12 on penalties (in the Europa League) while, at the opposite end of the scale, Zira FK beat NK Osijek 2-1 on penalties.

Bernard Quidbins (NickB), Thursday, 3 October 2024 21:00 (seven months ago)

At least it wasn't 7-1 though so they still got bragging rights after a fashion. More surprising was Hearts winning in Minsk despite being rock bottom, failing to win a single game and already losing a manager in the SPL.

LocalGarda, Thursday, 6 March 2025 19:16 (two months ago)

Rangers' European form continues to be a total mystery. Lose to St Mirren and Motherwell at home, go to Fenerbahce and win 3-1? And they had two goals chalked off by VAR by the way, the first one of which was extremely dubious.

Blake the Messenger (Tom D.), Thursday, 1 May 2025 20:02 (five days ago)

Absolute farce that two of the shittest rich teams in Europe can have a shot at the CL next season. The time to give a Europa League winner a CL place was when it involved good teams or teams that dropped out of the CL, yet they introduce it as this weird safety hatch for two of the most abysmal English failure teams of the modern era, even versus their own lowest recent standards.

LocalGarda, Friday, 2 May 2025 01:41 (four days ago)

Not sure what you're on about. The Europa league winner has qualified for the CL since 2015

I remember it being a thing in 2016 because 8th place Liverpool had a chance to qualify if they'd won it

Number None, Friday, 2 May 2025 08:14 (four days ago)

point stands - it's never been easier to win ergo it never has deserved a cl place less.

i remember 2016 well also - eighth, not that bad a position really when you think of how many positions there are in the league that a large, badly run club could sink to.

LocalGarda, Friday, 2 May 2025 08:19 (four days ago)

Europa League winners qualifying for the Champions League has been a bad idea since 2015.
