Erling Braut Haaland on as a second half sub again last night but only scored twice this time in a 5-1 win over Koln. Watching Dortmund play 3 at the back with 2 of the 3 being Mats Hummels and Lucas Piszczek who weren't exactly quick 4 years ago and aren't getting any faster is painful. Would put the over/under on goals they'll concede vs PSG in the Champions League next month over 2 legs at 7.
Red Bull not exactly everybodys cup of tea in Germany but rooting for them to hold on over Bayern in the league as they're p fun to watch especially Werner and Forsberg. Also nice to see Patrick Herrmann's return to form at Gladbach alongside baby Thuram and Alassane Plea.

lol didn't realise that klinnsman quit hertha last week after a mere 10 games in charge.

Mcmanaman "Dortmund in good form coming into this game". Well like 2 months ago Steve.
No crowd makes me question whether I love the actual game or the spectacle, cos the sterility of every game I've ever seen played in these circumstances is always to the fore.
― oscar bravo, Saturday, 16 May 2020 13:39 (five years ago)
Ah, didn't know this was the thread and posted in the 'there's always a game on somewhere'. Like the kohlenpott derby, not a bad one to kick things off again. But yeah, it's eerily quiet and sterile, as expected. I don't think I'll stick around w/ this for 90 mins.

Tuned in too late for the line ups but I don't see witzel, can, or Sancho out there for Dortmund :(
― oscar bravo, Saturday, 16 May 2020 13:48 (five years ago)
Sancho's on the bench w/ some minor inconvenience. Reus, Witsel, Can and Zagadou all injured.
Clubs can change five players during the match now instead of three (though only three sub moments are allowed)

Guerrieo 2-0. Dortmund dominating the midfield completely. Brandt has been tasty.
― oscar bravo, Saturday, 16 May 2020 14:17 (five years ago)
Baby hazard 3-0. So easy. Dortmund have played some lovely football. I assume the reason schalke's first choice keeper isn't playing because he's signed a pre contract with Bayern.

Delightful.

werder bremen stave off joining rivals hamburg in bundesliga 2 (for now). managed an improbable 6-1 win on the final day to move from automatic relegation place to playoff game thus sending down uwe rosler's fortuna.
kramaric with 4 goals at dortmund (SV always said he was good)
and david wagner's schalke end the season with an impressive, let me count them 1,2,3.....16 games without a win streak!!
no champions league for leverkusen so the vultures will be circling kai havertz and leon bailey no doubt

lol at hamburg and their stupid clock but a bremen vs hamburg playoff game would have been great.

also much as i don't like bayern gotta give a hat tip to hansi flick for the way he has improved them, revitalising mueller, moving alaba to CB and starting davies at LB, the responsibility given to kimmich.
if the euros had gone ahead would have been interesting to see how loew would have explained the exile of mueller from the national team.

Wagner is going to get sacked by Schalke if he doesn't win this weekend and it's only a matter of time before Sandro Schwarz replaces him anyway, because they have been total shite since the mid-season slump back in January. Lol I remember thinking he was the son of God and was incapable of failure and could turn puddle water into fizzy vimto.

currently 3 nil down at home to bremen who themselves only escaped relegation via a play off last season. stick a fork in him, he's done.

incredible. any schalke win would be amazing let alone 4-0 vs hoffenheim!
also haaland with a brace vs leipzig which takes him up to 24 goals in 25 total bundesliga games. the thought of him at man city gives me the fear.

werder bremen join rivals hamburg in bundesliga 2. the divine max kruse secures a europa conf. spot for union berlin who seemed chuffed with it. be surprised if andre silva is still at frankfurt next season given his last year and a half. think he would be great for spurs but should be competition to get him. and speaking of spurs i thought ryan sessignon did well at hoffenheim.

stunning insight from didi hamaan in the run up to gladbach vs bayern(who are going for their 10th title in a row) - "bayern will be there or thereabouts at end of the season". mind you gladbach could have had 2 goals in first 10 mins.
― oscar bravo, Friday, 13 August 2021 18:41 (three years ago)
gladbach 1-0. bayern a shambles at the back so far. boateng and alaba laughing somewhere.
― oscar bravo, Friday, 13 August 2021 18:44 (three years ago)
man that was a great game. after the good gladbach start Bayern dominated the next 55 mins during which lewandowski equalised. then with 15 mins to go gladbach brought on marcus thurham who proceeded to terrify the life out of upamecano missing an open goal and being denied a couple of pens. finished 1-1. gnabry was p poor but comon looked good when he came on. gladbach brought on a left winger who was on loan at Ipswich last season who looked decent.
― oscar bravo, Friday, 13 August 2021 20:41 (three years ago)
just the 2 goals and 3 assists for haaland tonight. he is equal parts exhilarating and frightening to watch. just incredible similar to how i felt watching OG Ronaldo in the early years. if city end up paying 150m for kane when they had the possibility to get haaland for the same amount they are morons.

justice for Dortmund getting hosed by a ludicrous non penalty call a couple of weeks ago resulting in dropped points. shame they'll probably choke against Augsburg tmrw. also a shame if nkunku ends up at Chelsea and fails.tuchel at Bayern has been hilarious so far in that it seems clear he seems extremely not bothered by the whole enterprise.

so glad I recorded this and watched every delicious minute when I got back from work tonight.Bayern absolutely pasted, completely bereft of ideas and threat. haven't seen a supposed good team dominated in so complete a fashion since villa beat city. and this was even more extreme.I know Davies was out and Dier is too slow to play in a back four but 3 cbs really doesn't suit Bayern.all the Leverkusen players were wonderful especially the RB on loan from Bayern and the #8. xhaka was great too.
― oscar bravo, Saturday, 10 February 2024 21:23 (one year ago)
not sure tuchel will survive the month let alone the summer at this rate. bring back hansi? enter jose? not sure if it's funny or sad that kane leaves spurs for a team that has won 11 titles in a row, plays great, breaks goalscoring records , and still ends up without a winners medal. bayern need a team that hasn't lost all season to lose 1/4 of their remaining games to have a chance at the title now.
