the most interesting new player to emerge since pato at least. looks at least as talented as özil, somewhat surprising that he got most of the hype during the world cup (possibly because he was likely to be sold). müller was top scorer playing mostly off rw, and at the age of 20.

i'm not sure if he'll end up in that position, could conceivably play centre forward too, tho with messi/ronaldo/villa (sometimes) it may be a trend for the main goalscorer to play off the wing. müller has very good technique but his reading of the game and intuitive sense is amazing for his age. i don't watch the bundesliga (not enough time in the day) but updates on him appreciated.

can we make this a bayern youngsters apprech thread? kroos also looks the nuts. imo they are starting to rival barca in kiddie awesomeness.

i get the train past the allianz every day. i really should go before i leave. maybe after oktoberfest.

is it just me or were most of muller's WC goals poached "ooh look what fell into me lap" type goals?

That happens to good players - instinct to be where it may fall (see McCoist, Sally).

from what i've seen, what i really like about müller is his lack of flair. well maybe not lack of, but total disinterest in anyway. he's obviously got great technique but all the time it's about doing something, going forward in the easiest possible way. don't wanna resort to 'efficient germans' but i have no choice. and his goal against roma was just incredible.

Yeah he does kind of have the Ronaldo minus the 4000 stepovers vibe.

Scored a nicely taken goal vs Hoff midweek. Ribiery cut in from left and fired a low shot, keeper saved well and the rebound came out quick and bouncing to Mueller around the penalty spot-ish. Calmy slotted it in. He chooses the time to come in from his right hand side berth very wisely imo. V.intelligent.

yeah i'd agree with that, it's the same with messi and villa, and makes his ~flair~ moments all the more impressive, eg the trivela goal vs roma or a rly awesome backheel-volley layoff to özil vs belgium (who then fucked it up)

i'd probably have done one or two threads like this already but they wd tend to fall off ile in a few hours and be forgotten (apart from the messi thread)

yeah muller is brilliant, pretty much my fave big player these days. can only echo the previous sentiments really - his lack of undue flair is very attractive.

kind of can already imagine telling my grandkids about him and them being like "yeah whatever"

had a tough first 2/3 of the season, but has shown signs of life in the last few games for Bayern and might yet have a great Euros (if he retains his starting position)
