Well, we've had some transferred already, I don't see why not more.

acoleuthic, Sunday, 26 September 2010 00:44 (fourteen years ago)

'i dont see why not' was the round-the-table response to the invasion of poland memo iirc,

the Ugly Footballers Thread

Michael B, Sunday, 26 September 2010 00:58 (fourteen years ago)

love how Kevin Pressman and Phil Stamp abide there amidst the dead-image-link carnage

acoleuthic, Sunday, 26 September 2010 01:11 (fourteen years ago)

All of those are way too old to move over here. It's only recent and/or live ones that are being moved over. Otherwise you might as well move the ILE World Cup threads from 2002.

GAZZA DEATH POOL

Can't believe this is still ongoing tbqh

He's the new manager of Garforth Town FC!

Matt DC, Monday, 27 September 2010 11:10 (fourteen years ago)

I'm off to buy a pub in Garforth, brb.

Just searched ILX for Shakespeare and found this beauty!

I think we should bring the Premiership thread here.

acoleuthic, Wednesday, 6 October 2010 12:49 (fourteen years ago)

i do too. i couldn't give a reason why, but yeah

con suelo, Wednesday, 6 October 2010 12:52 (fourteen years ago)

well it just feels dumb having ILF's most popular thread not on ILF. it's not like people won't find it here. actually we'd cull the non-SNA luddites, it'd do the thread a service

acoleuthic, Wednesday, 6 October 2010 12:59 (fourteen years ago)

no, leave it as is. it's busy, it's relevant to ILE, many posters use it as their main football thread, it's there because it's not a niche interest thread. this was all discussed on the thread about ILF

i dont love everything, i love football (darraghmac), Wednesday, 6 October 2010 13:08 (fourteen years ago)

uh it can still be all those things on ILF. embrace the new. it's not like people will be up in arms if it moves. plus it'll give ILF a boost

acoleuthic, Wednesday, 6 October 2010 13:10 (fourteen years ago)

people will quite clearly be up in arms if it's moved, and many people said as much in that thread, and i was away most of that weekend and i knwo that

i dont love everything, i love football (darraghmac), Wednesday, 6 October 2010 15:30 (fourteen years ago)

Don't think ILF really needs a boost.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 6 October 2010 15:33 (fourteen years ago)

It's chugging along quite nicely as far as I can see.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 6 October 2010 15:33 (fourteen years ago)

It'd be more convenient to have it here, which is why I don't want it to be here. Let's not have football as just a little ghetto please.

(curious about the thought that ILF needs a boost btw, it seems healthy enough to me)

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 6 October 2010 15:34 (fourteen years ago)

gah xp

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 6 October 2010 15:34 (fourteen years ago)

it's a natural thread to have in ILE, more than anything else. Lots more people will have a passing interest in the premier league than will care about football manager tactics, slagging r benitez i his own designated etc, and enough of them have already stated that they'd feel alienated if that thread were to be moved.

i dont love everything, i love football (darraghmac), Wednesday, 6 October 2010 15:37 (fourteen years ago)

fine fine whatever

acoleuthic, Wednesday, 6 October 2010 15:38 (fourteen years ago)

what was the random euro leagues thread you started with an Atletico Coimbra goal or something? There's a very interesting game coming up in Sweden next weekend and we might need it

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 6 October 2010 15:40 (fourteen years ago)

plz move 2 ILF

acoleuthic, Wednesday, 6 October 2010 15:41 (fourteen years ago)

Can't say I approve of the double blasphemy, but will bear in mind.

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 6 October 2010 15:42 (fourteen years ago)

Which game IK? I've been trying to follow the Swedish league for a couple of seasons but the fact I lumbered myself with a chronically mediocre team meant I always get bored after the first couple of games.

AIK have a relegation six-pointer with the team one point below them (can't remember the name right now, it caught my eye when I was researching something else) - as AIK are the biggest club in Sweden and only a point ahead with three games left, this looks like potentially big news.

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 6 October 2010 15:52 (fourteen years ago)

AIK v Gefle, Saturday 16th at 4pm local time - get it in the diary

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 6 October 2010 15:56 (fourteen years ago)

Gefle won the home match 1-0. AIK being taken to new levels by Scotland's own Alex Miller.

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 6 October 2010 15:56 (fourteen years ago)

AIK are also reigning champions, so no Liverpool parallels to be drawn here.

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 6 October 2010 16:00 (fourteen years ago)

Oh, didn't even see AIK down there. I've been to Gävle, they have a huge straw goat in the square at Christmas, and that's about it.

AIK are the reigning champions as well. Wonder what's gone wrong.

Thread does exist, it's not showing up because the link is now pointing to the wrong place as I just moved it to ILF.

my post had been jokingly chiding IK for his mock-puritanism - I know we're in safe hands albeit safe hands that don't know fluke from inspiration

acoleuthic, Wednesday, 6 October 2010 16:16 (fourteen years ago)

goal for AIK! Don't know by whom as there appear to be no streams, also I don't know any of the players. 1-0 up with 25 mins to go

Ismael Klata, Saturday, 16 October 2010 15:24 (fourteen years ago)

2-0 now, 87 mins gone - AIK are, I imagine, playing keepball and turning party tricks like the overrated, underachieving primadonnas they may or may not be
