this was on film 4 sunday night. great movie about a group of girls who try to get into the stadium for iran's crucial WC qualifier. was filmed right on that day (as far as i know). so many great moments like the doltish country bumpkin guard, the whole city erupting in delerium as the girls celebrate in the van as they are being taken to the station. lovely film.

Always seem to turn this on halfway through whenever it's on TV.

Ha - was thinking while stuck in traffic on my way home that it's only a matter of time 'til Fulham's UEFA cup run gets adapted for the big screen. Then I remembered we'd already discussed it at the time.

Shit football films I have seen: When Saturday Comes
So bad they're good and I actually love them football films I have seen: A Shot at Glory (based on Raith Rovers' League Cup campaign in 1994, fact fans, and featuring Robert Duvall with a REALLY bad accent), Escape To Victory
Good football films I haven't actually seen yet: The Damned United

My answer's always Another Saturday and Sweet F.A. even tho it's made for TV so probably shouldn't count.

I found myself in the little Sarti's in central Glasgow with Robert Duvall one afternoon while he was filming that xp. There was only his group of three and us. My two pals were awestruck, but alas I didn't know who he was.

Ismael Klata, Tuesday, 9 November 2010 19:06 (fourteen years ago)

He wasn't filming in Sarti's, he was just having coffee

Aye, McCoist's in it as the lead (his accent not as noteworthy as Duvall's, obv, and his performance actually not as terrible as I had hoped it would be). There are fuckloads of minor Scottish football personalities all over it, and Michael Keaton's in it too.
