I was at a latino-centric indoor facility when this went down, you'd have thought they won the game out on the field there. Incredible atmosphere.

congrats to El Tri, got a pretty good thing going these days

Was a p good game and the atmosphere seemed amazing. Full house 105,000!! Happy for Mexico, Uruguay kinda mugged Brazil in the Semi Final tbh. Nothing will top that overhead kick winner in the last minute against Germany tho.

since there is no u20 world cup thread, i'll use this one, no need for a new thread i guess.anyways watching france vs s korea right now. france are dominating the midfield, s-korea can't seem to bring the ball up the field without losing it. their player no 11 is hilarious, every time anoher player touches him or tries to go shoulder to shoulder with him, he just stops, takes an exasperated look and waits for the ref to give him a fk, which usually happens. as for france, it looks like they have no strikers on the field. i think i counted two or three occasions where a player wanted to cross but there were no blue shirts inside the box... second half is coming back on.

I caught the first half of Colombia-France the other day. Antoine Griezmann looked good, Gilles Sunu scored a nice goal. France's enormous centre-back (Koulibaly?) was poor.
― boxall, Tuesday, 2 August 2011 23:06 (thirteen years ago)
Griezmann is looking good today, Sunu has scored and Koulibaly is rather good. Things have almost stayed the same ^^Also, tbh, from the highlights of france colombia, it kind of looked like koulibaly kept being abandoned by the other defenders and being stuck in 1 on 1 situations. Honestly, the awful central defender is the other one, Faure.

also i think i picked the wrong game cos it is a bore. tho skorea seems to be doing better since the start of the 2nd half.
― Jibe, Tuesday, 2 August 2011 23:13 (thirteen years ago)
It was only a brief impression but the penalty he conceded to COL was horrendous at least, would've been considered ugly anywhere on the pitch.
Griezmann was great to watch for Sociedad last season - better than being stuck in OL reserves.
― boxall, Tuesday, 2 August 2011 23:15 (thirteen years ago)
nice fk there from sk to make it 1-1abt griezmann, at some point in the year there were some ppl saying laurent blanc should pick him. also, he left really young to go to real sociedad, aroung 15 or something. i can only wish he'd been an ol reserve (before being sold to another ligue 1 team where he'd be good and then ol try to be him back lols)
― Jibe, Tuesday, 2 August 2011 23:20 (thirteen years ago)
france end up winning 3-1. they looked out of ideas after s korea equalized, trying shots from outside the box. one finally went in after a deflection from a defender. that made life easier for them and they ended up scoring a third one (lacazette! hell yeah! tho he cut his hair :( ).

Ecuador v Spain U20s on Eurosport just now. Very even game, Ecuador maybe edging it. 0-0 after 30 minutes.

hmmmm not sleeping, might get up for that
― CH3C(O)N(CH3)2 (darraghmac), Wednesday, 3 August 2011 22:34 (thirteen years ago)
HT 0-0, Spain growing in confidence, Ecuador still looking handy but venturing forward less often.

How's Dani Pacheco playing?

Perfectly weighted & timed pass by Clement Grenier for Lacazette to score just now, France 2-0 Mali. Overall both teams have been frenetic and passed poorly.
― boxall, Saturday, 6 August 2011 02:37 (thirteen years ago)
Didn't watch the game, but from what I've read and seen, it looks like Kakuta isn't doing great in this WC. Everytime Grenier comes on he appears a lot more useful. Also, I'm not convinced by their forward, Bakambu. But I'm really biased cos i <3 Lacazette (even though he cut his hair!) and Grenier.
