Player draft sounds interesting, how would it work?

Same scoring rules, also the player valuations and the £100m budget. Ideally the draft would be held just before the first week of fixtures, but squads wouldn't be locked in until 1 September, so the frenzied activity of the last week in August is nicely paralleled. No transfers until January allows you to repent at leisure.

and how would we bid?

Draft order chosen at random, but alternating each round. If you're drawn 8th in a league of 10 teams, you'll pick 3rd alternating rounds so you're not at a disadvantage throughout.

I'm not suggesting this replace the traditional league already open btw, it's just a secondary option, but if there's interest I'll sign up for a league code and post it.

Also it won't dominate board conversation b/c there are no squad changes each week, so at worst you'll languish at the bottom of the table without anyone noticing, like Blackburn.

There's no website with these rules hardwired in - we get to make them up as we see fit so there's room for negotiation.

It took a few goes but I've just got in, and just in time - only a couple of hours left.

The head-to-head league's doing well with 13, but the main league's well down on last year. As a reminder, these are the codes:

423657-117660 for the main league
501818-137752 for the head-to-head

I still can't log on. This is hopeless. I suspect they'll have to cancel the whole of the first weekend - they can't run it if nobody can access their teams.

It took me about a dozen goes this morning so it can be done - but yeah, hopeless.

The website doesn't even seem to exist any more. I've done some investigating and there are people on football forums all round the country complaining that it's fucked, so at least I know it's not my problem. I have no idea who is in my team: some randomers that I intended to change the day before the season started. But like I say, I imagine they'll cancel the scores for this weekend as nobody can use it. I can't remember if I had joined either of the ILX leagues when I set my team up.

I imagine that's also a bit how Wenger must be feeling.

He'll be lucky if the scores from this weekend get cancelled.

i doubt they'll cancel scores but they'll have to allow late registrations to leagues without penalising the scores

I'm not sure I'm ready for this

I've just noticed that nine of my squad were either injured or had no game (due to the World Club thing which I was unaware of) so even with automatic substitutions I only had 6 players last weekend.

And I had five players 'doubtful' for this weekend, so I've played my wildcard and totally overhauled the squad. IK - let pandemic know (itt) that I won't need reminding this weekend.

To be honest, I have no idea who almost anybody in that league is and haven't done for several seasons. With the exception of IK and Pandemic (easily identifiable), A Hoy Hoy and possibly Chris the Liverpool fan, for all I know it could be a world of lurkers.

Well it's Friday but it's also Xmas so I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be bumping this thread or not....

Not happy with my team but all the under performers are cheapish so to clear enough space to get, say walcott, would take me about 6 moves/4 match days. Couldn't be arsed to even start tbh.

I am so bad at this. Somehow out of the bottom three atm though.

My team has started doing badly but I don't know how to improve. I accidentally had Kevin Nolan as captain for two weeks.

This week is the last chance to use the January transfer wildcard btw.

My team had the most points this week. Given that we are about 24 weeks in and there are about 24 teams, i guess it had to happen some time.

still top, just. despite some silly mistakes recently. like getting rafael in for a hit and then watching him start on the bench, come on for the last 20 mins and get booked. and also waiting all season to get mata in on the wildcard and getting rid after one week and a double figure haul. this thing makes you act perverse. and kills your soul.

This week is a pain in the arse. Half my team not playing but can't really sub out the likes of fellani, baines, michu cos I wouldn't be able to swap them back in next week due to their valuation having gone up during the season. Bah!

It looks like I'll only have six players this time. I really should have looked at the fixture list last time round: I signed Rafael and Giggs only for both of them to be rested last week and have no game this week. I lost the will to bother making a transfer this week.

Finished 4th in both leagues. Not bad having spent the first ten weeks around 22nd.

Seconded to all of that. My lads put in a decent performance in the head-to-head, oddly - I could maybe pass that off as a rafaesque season, including the loathing by my own fans.

J Hammond faded badly though, I'm disappointed in him.

I'll take a 7th place finish. Is that worth an Intertoto Cup place anymore?

I shoulda retired at the end of 2011/12. If I sign up for this season it'll give a preview of the feeling everybody gets when Giggs signs another year's contract extension in 2016.
