ff website sucks, do we start from gameweek 2 or not?

What are the arguments in favour of starting from week 2? Seem like loads of people already have teams. If there's a significant number of people who weren't able to sign up then fair enough, otherwise why not just carry on as we are?

i got no prob with that, imo motivations other than pure self-interest are normally the product of woolly logic

A statement has been issued regarding the Fantasy Premier League game.

As some of you are aware, many fans trying to access Fantasy Premier League on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning will have experienced problems logging in or registering teams prior to the Gameweek 1 deadline.

While the demand reached unprecedented levels on Saturday morning, we fell short of the standards you expect from the world's biggest fantasy football game and make no excuses for what was both a frustrating and disappointing experience ahead of the new season. For this we apologise unreservedly.

Could somebody do me a favour and try to log on to the website right now? It seems to have completely broken, but I don't know if that's just for me.

I've tried to log on about a hundred times now. Time to give up. I even tried to register a completely new team instead, but the website just crashes every single time.

The website doesn't even seem to exist any more. I've done some investigating and there are people on football forums all round the country complaining that it's fucked, so at least I know it's not my problem. I have no idea who is in my team: some randomers that I intended to change the day before the season started. But like I say, I imagine they'll cancel the scores for this weekend as nobody can use it. I can't remember if I had joined either of the ILX leagues when I set my team up.

had slightly below average first week = voted yes.

wasn't able to do a team due to it being fucked at one point, then was in Dublin with no internet access. so voting yes.

voted no as i hadn't had a chance to set a team but was going to put de gea in goal and torres up front

Mostly awful matches last weekend anyway, Kun's debut excepted, the semi-friendlies Real & Barca have been playing about 2.5x the quality. Best to forget they ever happened.

Seems to be in the process of happening (the website seems to be struggling with all leagues at the moment). The head-to-head one isn't working yet, though.

The head-to-head league appears to believe I asked it to begin with Week 3. I'd like to believe it's the website's fault, but more likely I selected the wrong option. Sorry.

Is it still open for new entrants then?

When I realized my error I closed it, but I can reopen it until Saturday if there's still someone hoping to get in. You're already in, btw.
