ILF is an unusually honest board in many respects.

could this be the gig rafa benitez has been biding his sweet time for?

not enough wonga for o'neill & hughes. o'driscoll rep permanently damaged? lol 2008 slaven bilic? punt on a young chap like lee clark or karl robinson?

incey folly does seem pretty plausible, thinking about it.

r|t|c, Saturday, 22 October 2011 18:12 (thirteen years ago)

i dunno with ince, feel like he probly got a bit of a raw deal at Blackburn, has obviously been good lower down the leagues. like O'Driscoll but cannot see it happening. a young guy wd be my choice. wd rather get relegated than play like Stoke. hoping that little comeback today hasn't distracted morgan from the 80 minutes of gash that came before it. and the 500-odd minutes of gash before that.

Two Noble Klinsmenn (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 22 October 2011 18:24 (thirteen years ago)

think a late comeback like that could kickstart the season tbph

You don't want to be like us, always wonderin what would have happened if only we'd held onto martin jol, y'know?

stop muammar time (darraghmac), Saturday, 22 October 2011 18:28 (thirteen years ago)

i put it to you, sir, that a man who thinks Stephen Hunt isn't good enough to play in that starting 11 is a man who wants running over by a bus

Two Noble Klinsmenn (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 22 October 2011 18:30 (thirteen years ago)

we all thought jol picked the wrong starting xi week after week too, but look at us now

stop muammar time (darraghmac), Saturday, 22 October 2011 19:12 (thirteen years ago)

three weeks pass...

we'll have him back, swap ye

best football under mick of last what...20 years, i agree. but he had his time.

When a German communicates, you listen (LocalGarda), Saturday, 12 November 2011 02:54 (thirteen years ago)

he had a very good team, maybe the individuals in it were underrated, holland/kinsella in middle were v good footballers

Apropos of nothing, like!

₪_₪ (darraghmac), Saturday, 12 November 2011 03:07 (thirteen years ago)

plus duff 2002 was peaking to this incredible level, and keane too was far better then. roy keane, given still about, agree about holland/kinsella. esp cos my friend's ex gf once admitted she had a fling with kinsella prior to dating him, leading to him being discussed in friend's presence incessantly for many years.

ha totally off topic but my best mate's wife 'can't remember if' she shagged yerman from the IT crowd leading to the same kinda craic

₪_₪ (darraghmac), Saturday, 12 November 2011 03:16 (thirteen years ago)

yeah duff/keane were on incredible form in the tournament proper, duff was world-class for a stretch

₪_₪ (darraghmac), Saturday, 12 November 2011 03:17 (thirteen years ago)

defo...duff was so amazing then, he'd drop deep and get the ball and then turn the man every fucking time, he was shredding teams. even in qualification i remember the portugal home game he came on i think, was fantastic. he's still a great footballer imo, uses the ball well, i sometimes wonder if we could do a giggs with him and play him in the middle.

When a German communicates, you listen (LocalGarda), Saturday, 12 November 2011 10:55 (thirteen years ago)

see him for fulham, and i think he's badly missing someone inside him to play off tbh- think we may have broached that elsewhere

red is hungry green is jawless (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 7 April 2012 18:47 (thirteen years ago)

Do you think Mick would have won more than a point from the games since his sacking?

we are not bemused (onimo), Saturday, 7 April 2012 20:25 (thirteen years ago)

might have nicked the odd one but i don't see why. Connor actually seems to be managing the shower of shit McCarthy bought slightly more adventurously than Mick would've, but the problem is they're rubbish and their heads have gone

red is hungry green is jawless (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 7 April 2012 21:09 (thirteen years ago)

one month passes...

Stale Solbakken will be the new Wolverhampton Wanderers manager. The 44-year-old Norwegian, who was sacked as Cologne's head coach last month, held talks with the Midlands club on Thursday and will be confirmed as Mick McCarthy's permanent successor in the coming days. His task will be to secure an immediate return to the Premier League in the wake of relegation this season.
