Xavi's enough of an all-round midfielder he could accommodate (read: carry the defensive load for) Zidane, that might be worth throwing him a vote of appreciation.

maybe xavi suffers in comparison with zizou for me because he plays so simply that most of what he does seems routine. I know logically that it really really isn't but he rarely takes my breath away when I watch him play. Whereas Zizou had so many wow moments. I mean most of Euro 2000 seemed like a wow moment.... and the latter stages of W Cup 2006...and THAT goal in Glasgow etc etc
