How do you feel your Premiership debut went at Spurs last week?

I think I did okay. I kept the ball well. It's hard to come on at 1-1 when people don't really know what you can do. Maybe they weren't expecting a lot from me because they don't know much about me. Overall though I think I did well.

He was again called into the squad by England coach Fabio Capello in May 2008 for the friendlies against the United States and Trinidad and Tobago.[9] He made his England debut against the latter on 1 June coming on as a substitute for Wayne Bridge in the 84th minute.[10][11]

that might be the most low key international debut ever

jhøshea nrq (nakhchivan), Thursday, 5 January 2012 19:01 (thirteen years ago) link

so yeah you know the broad outlines so far: after a couple of seasons on loan, makes debut for liverpool at 22, becomes a useful squad player and is sold by rafa to blackburn where he solidifies his position in the bridge-baines-konchesky tier of english fullbacks who aren't ashley cole

then he made his big move to villa at a time when they were 'champions league hopefuls', and has been going gradually downhill since martin o'neill's policy of signing every england squad player ever gave way to lerner's new austerity era fiscal program

now he has just turned 30, and the future is uncertain

England star Stephen Warnock honoured on James Corden’s ITV1 show
Jul 1 2010 by Gemma Jaleel, Ormskirk Advertiser

ENGLAND may be out of the World Cup but that didn’t stop James Corden honouring Ormskirk’s Stephen Warnock on his ITV1 show dedicated to the tournament. Stephen’s brother Neil, his wife Laura and close friends travelled down to London on Saturday for the grand opening of Warnock’s Bar on the set of James Corden’s World Cup Live on ITV1.

Neil said: “It was a bit of a mickey-take but we’re glad they honoured Stephen. It’s a shame that he didn’t get to play but we are really proud of him. We met Chris Evans, Heston Blumenthal and Abi Clancy. We were all a bit nervous but we had a great time.”

Ormskirk West End Football Club celebrates its 40th anniversary
Jul 15 2010 Ormskirk Advertiser

A FITTING tribute to the man who started their club. That was how organisers of the Ormskirk West End Football Club described their 40th anniversary dinner.

Players past and present were among the 243 people who came together to celebrate four decades of the club’s proud history. Sadly two of Ormskirk West End’s most famous prodigies, Stephen Warnock and Trevor Birch, were unable to make the event due to other commitments.

(anyone wishing to know the identity of the man who founded Ormskirk West End need wait only until paragraph 12 of the full article)

Biography

Just to clarify, since I've seen a couple of edits on the fact about his brother being Neil Warnock. He does have a brother (I believe it's a younger brother) named Neil, but he is completely unrelated to the former Sheff Utd manager Neil Warnock (who's old enough to be his dad!) His brother Neil Warnock is not involved in soccer, and supports Everton instead. Agent Sleeper 13:33, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
