Whichever outcome results in David Cameron not making this face again.

I've hated Utd longer and harder than I've ever hated Chelsea so... Man City win the league. I was a little surprised by quite how bummed out I was about last night tho, and moving thru baggage claim at gatwick this morning at 4am surrounded by hundreds of jublilant Chelsea fans didn't improve my disposition any either.

Same, though I was maybe less bummed out than I'd thought. I was totally resigned to it happening - in fact was amazed when muller scored - and it's only really JT, Cech, Cole and Abramovich that really leave me feeling bad. A lot of the others I quite like.

Had I been stuck at Gatwick through last night I might've felt worse, yes.

both times i had the enjoyment of one team losing tempered by the disappointment of who actually won. i enjoyed bayern losing most and liked man city winning least, so i am in a bind wrt this poll. but it breaks down to nouveau riche vs euro football aristocracy i guess, so i'll throw my lot in with the upstarts.

this is the sort of poll a liverpool fan would make

manchester united are not really hateful in any way, i didn't want them to win this year because they are in danger of becoming dynastic champions-by-default like olympikaos but without playing the sort of stirring football one might expect of serial champions

i don't really like the sort of boring traintracks 442 they have adopted since queiroz and ronaldo left, but i've preferred them to chelsea for the last few years, and if they buy kagawa and maybe cleverly becomes more established, they will be much more interesting to watch and i would favour them over city unless city play truly brilliant football

bayern have a nice team but the club is largely a malign influence and i hope klopp stays with dortmund and makes the bundesliga at least a duopoly

city are full of ppl i like, mancini, aguero, balotelli, silva, the tourés, but they have an incipient boorishness and could quickly become horrid

bayern might have a monopoly but by and large they play good football with very good players and tbh for all that i see of them that'll serve as good enough for me.

i've to watch or avoid watching utd most weeks of my life, and they're utterly shite to watch, with players that are shite to watch.

city are wasteful with talent and fuck up the market for decent bigs but they play tidy enough stuff at times and bring great players to the league, i'mma pass them.

chelsea play shite, have shite, are shite, from shite they came and unto shite may they return the fucking cunts.

this has to be Man City for the league unless you're an actual Utd fan

I don't understand.

Hasn't this *already happened*?

Pacific Trash Vortex (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 20 May 2012 20:41 (twelve years ago)

Maybe it was all just a horrible dream.

Go down to the crossroads & put everything right.

Back in the real world, Cardiff will be playing in Europe next season after deservedly beating Liverpool on penalties in the Rubmelows Cup. Spurs knocked Chelsea out of the FA Cup after Chelsea uncontroversially had a 'goal' disallowed because the ball hadn't crossed the line and they then went on to trounce Liverpool in the final causing Chas & Dave to reunite. Meanwhile, Man Utd improbabably stormed into an 8-point lead at the top of the table, only to even more improbably lose it. With City in pole position on the final day all appeared lost, but Rooney scored and QPR fought back to take an astounding 2-1 lead. City peppered the QPR goal with three dozen shots, but couldn't break through. As the game slipped into injury time, news filtered through that Stoke had relegated Bolton and QPR no longer needed anything from the match. Determined to show their sporting integrity, QPR redoubled their efforts and failed to concede two injury time goals, thus handing the title to everyone's second favourite club. Six days later, in Munich, Ashley Cole stepped up to take the decisive penalty and slipped onto his arse, gazing in misery as the ball trickled towards the corner flag.

Serov devochka s persikami (nakhchivan), Sunday, 20 May 2012 22:06 (twelve years ago)

when an unbiased observer thinks back on 2012, will she think 'ah, the year city won the league' or 'ah, the year chelsea won the european cup'?

that is, which is a bigger deal?

mookieproof, Sunday, 20 May 2012 22:27 (twelve years ago)

i think....chelsea

citeh winning the league will not seem so remarkable in five year, but ppl will be asking 'chelsea who?'

pet tommy & the barkhaters (darraghmac), Sunday, 20 May 2012 22:57 (twelve years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll's results are now in.
