laudrup was before my time but i went on another laudrup youtube sesh last night and christ alive he was astonishingly poised and ambidextrous

unlike all of the great dribblers now who seem to be small low centred types, he was 6' too

other similarities with andres; seen as introverted and perfectionist, criticized for supposedly low scoring

a lot of people love iniesta

he is a sort of deity to those barcelona/barcelonaism fanboys right now for whom messi is a bit too obviously great

A.R.R.Y. Kane (nakhchivan), Monday, 20 August 2012 11:58 (twelve years ago)

i prefer laudrup's dribbling, more angular and clever

The question is going like this: “You played with Pep Guardiola at Barcelona...”

Michael Laudrup leans forward in his chair in the small manager’s office at the Liberty Stadium and interrupts it.

“He would maybe say that he played with me,” says the Swansea boss. Then he starts to laugh.

That 1 hour 23 min Laudrup compilation posted by r|t|c is amazing. Obviously didn't watch it all, but you can just click into it anywhere to see an amazing pass.

deems these laudrup compilations are astonishing

hes probably more in the ronaldinho zico zidane kinda level than iniesta, as much as inesta is solidly the Third Best Player In The World these days

it's an hour and a half of defense splitting passes, most of which were shamefully wasted it seems.

chinatown is amazing too, tho not quite as good as polanski's 'cul de sac'

really enjoyed this robert prosinecki comp, quite possibly the scrappiest most inspirationally ungainly dribbler ever by the looks of it

r|t|c, Wednesday, 16 January 2013 15:52 (twelve years ago)

6ft+ dribblers are just the best, fuck a lil zoomy midget

r|t|c, Wednesday, 16 January 2013 15:58 (twelve years ago)

One story goes that when Laudrup was discussing retirement over dinner one day in 1996, King Juan Carlos I, who happened to be in the same restaurant, called him to his table and asked for clarification on the rumours he had heard. Upon learning they were true, he said: 'That's good news. I'll be the only king in Spain again.'

totes xp, feel like it requires more ingenuity to control in tight spaces when they dont have a stride length of 5cm

things that are jokes pretty much (Nilmar Honorato da Silva), Wednesday, 16 January 2013 16:06 (twelve years ago)

sort of feel that iniesta being played on the wing instead of villa or alexis is ever so slightly shameful and that the current barcelona should always have direct threats from wide

idk jordi alba is probs the most forward fb i've ever seen, think they've still got that aspect covered

they fucked malaga playing a team of attacking mids but it was too deterministic and cold for my liking

just looking at the 11.00 dribbling clip now, his gait, the way he holds himself waiting for the defender's move reminds me of someone, maybe hoddle. what a player he might have been if he'd ever managed to make it to england.

Just watching that 11 minute dribbling compilation again, the turn in the 7.28 clip is pure magic, dude gets moving up the pitch so fast when the ball drops to him. Amazing.

He told the Danish newspaper Politiken: “I’m now entering my final phase as a coach. Although whether Lekhwiya will be my final or penultimate club I can’t say. And I don’t know either whether this phase while last two, three of four years. The answer is blowing in the wind.
