who will do best and furthermore do you think this strategy of buying ligue 1 formerly hyped or questionable prospects with perhaps minor water damage and soiling at knockdown prices is a viable longterm program

debuchy looked great for france but there must be a reason nobody else was in for him in the summer
goufrfran looks like maybe an upgrade on obertan
yanga-mbiwa is supposed to be pretty good but why nae other cunt in for him
haidara idk who he is tho i like how japanese his name sounds
sissoko is boss imo, regla ligue un viewers say he doesnt really have much tactical aptitude but last time i saw him vs marseille he was playing as a #9 for the most lethargic team i have ever seen, play him as the runner/linebreaker alongside cabayes dictation and tiotes roving camp enforcer and he will serially fuck over epl dmids

nukey have rly got on my wick lately with the absurd remy piety but 2x international defenders, 1x up and coming guy, 1x squad dude, 1x yoof backup for ~16m is nifty biz

"why nae other cunt" isnt so much a flag imo, clubs be thick as pigshit

havent seen enough of any to comment with conviction but gouffran screams 6-goal a season headless chicken off the bench, debuchy could get flaky in the epl hustle headlights, longterm sissoko prob needs better management than temps pardew will provide if he isnt to be another inefficient tiote sequel

and yeah def feeling the italo-nippon name

kinda feel like they're not really paying enough thought to what cisse could do with alongside, fair enough it doesnt always have to be a big man but it aint loic remy either

"runner / linebreaker," is Sissoko's style of play something like Ramires' then? I remember you endorsing him for a bigger club at least 2 seasons ago but I still haven't seen him much. Watched PSG-Toulouse in the French cup the other day but he wasn't in the squad, finalizing this move I guess, and furthermore their other rated MF Etienne Capoue had to play centre-back due to a shortage. He didn't impress there.

this is working on the basis that everyone wants a midfielder who can start relatively deep but then break forward like yaya touré and overload the defence (hence the sudden fuss about diamé when nobody cared that much during all his time at wigan)

sissoko looks like that in terms of powerful running from deep with acceleration and reasonably good close control, not that i imagine he will ever be as good a passer or as intelligent as yaya

since pardew needs to stop playing horrible reepian 4-4-2 with shola ameobi alongside cissé, tiote/cabaye/sissoko looks likes a good allround skillset, maybe a europa league version of mascherano/alonso/gerrard

capoué is more highly rated now, i haven't seen him enough but he seems to be more of an allround orthodox dmid with maybe more incisive passing than toulalan or makalélé or whoever

i have good feelings about gouffran

standard disclaimer applies (darraghmac), Saturday, 26 January 2013 17:59 (thirteen years ago)

think i've read the same re capoue. also he is xtra violent

r|t|c, Saturday, 26 January 2013 18:07 (thirteen years ago)

diame seems hugely miscast by the media from what i've seen (probs simply due to his physique), not much of a tackler but a probing playmaker w/ great technique

r|t|c, Saturday, 26 January 2013 18:08 (thirteen years ago)

wigan played him dmc and he was largely indifferent, fans werent too bovd about seeing him go iirc

r|t|c, Saturday, 26 January 2013 18:10 (thirteen years ago)

seems like he was miscast by roberto martinez

yeah xp

diame did get a few rave reviews in that role but it seems he was inconsistent and then there is his heart condition

jamie redknapp upset about all of these midprice former ligue un players outstripping english ~talent~

none of those cunts seemed to respect french fitba since zidane et al retired and spain entered its augustan phase, but they are producing significantly more good players than england

i feel like this team being managed by pardew is one of modern day football's biggest disappointments. hire a slavan bilic or something ffs.

how many more players do nufc need to field a team made only of french/ligue1 players ? they need a gk, anything else? as for your previous message nakh:

debuchy looked great for france but there must be a reason nobody else was in for him in the summer - i'm pretty sure there were clubs going for him but let's just say that lille wanted to keep him and could afford, as is usually the case when you sell an eden hazard for big chelsea money. iirc debuchy did want to leave and there were a few offers but refused by the club.

goufrfran looks like maybe an upgrade on obertan - he is an upgrade on obertan but that doesn't really mean he's very good or anything. i quite agree with rtc's judgement of the guy.

yanga-mbiwa is supposed to be pretty good but why nae other cunt in for him - same as with lille and debuchy, there were a few offers for him last summer but since they'd sold giroud they could keep him. tbh louis nicollin (montpellier's owner) is really pissed off about this and had a huge rant a few days ago, called yanga mbiwa a donkey for leaving to newcastle.

haidara idk who he is tho i like how japanese his name sounds - no clue about this guy

sissoko is boss imo, regla ligue un viewers say he doesnt really have much tactical aptitude but last time i saw him vs marseille he was playing as a #9 for the most lethargic team i have ever seen, play him as the runner/linebreaker alongside cabayes dictation and tiotes roving camp enforcer and he will serially fuck over epl dmids - sissoko is quite good yeah, him and capoue were amongst the most wanted midfielders in ligue 1, tons of teams asked about them and sadran (toulouse's president) even said once that sissoko would only be let go for a 30M offer. must be regretting that statement right now. they'd been trying to get a contract extension last summmer, didn't work out very well for them.

Jibe, Sunday, 27 January 2013 13:31 (thirteen years ago)

yeah but after debuchy's performances in the euros i thought there was no chance newcastle would get him, assumed chelsea or someone would throw £15m at him
