I shoulda retired at the end of 2011/12. If I sign up for this season it'll give a preview of the feeling everybody gets when Giggs signs another year's contract extension in 2016.

I'm almost certain that if you participated in the main league last year you are automatically entered again this time as soon as you create a team. You need to enter the code to register for the Zingari, though.

Can someone give me a quick rundown on what Zingari actually entails?

I'm in, let's see if I can sustain interest for more than three weeks this time round.

Zingari league is set up like an actual league, with a schedule of weekly one-on-one meetings between the teams, and yr usual three points for a win, one for the (unlikely) draw format. If we really paid attention to our next opponents and really got to caring about it then the bantz would surely flow.

idk, i came looking for the 13/14 zingari code to find my good name has been tossed around more than a used michael owen prospectus...

i would't say i'm a lurker, some of you might recall my occasional in-match posts and i have reared my head on ilx/ilm/ilp or once in a while a manchester thread over the last 7 or 8 years. some tricky family stuff last year became life-changing and by september i stopped clicking on the ilx bookmark. but we adapt and grow and make of life what we do to love the ones we love, and after a year have recently dipped toe back into the ilx water as it were.

was never going to miss out on the ilx league. ismael, no one is more disappointed in me than I am after my week 1 last season.... it got me thrown out of a league my lad had invited me to (said lad is manager of Sub-Standard Liege ftr). after the dizzy heights of 308th in the overall league there was only one way i was going to go.

13/14 will be a different story: start slow, build momentum. who knows, i might even post a bit more.

I've got Mignolet, Agger and Walters. I didn't know what to think about he penalty.

I've joined the league now too. As you will see from my decision to have Odemwengie play and Benteke on the bench, you're dealing with a pro.

This is killing me. So, so close to the end of the season and yet the barking hounds still snap at my tail and give me no respite.

I spent a good five minutes or so looking at the strikers available last weekend before eventually deciding to gamble on Jay Rodriguez, only to discover that it wouldn't let me sign him because he was already in my team and had been for some time. He then got broken and misses the world cup. Meanwhile, I had Puncheon uselessly on the bench when he could have got me 16 points.

Oh wow, I'd been trying to set up playoffs all season but could never work out how to do it - didn't realise it would happen automatically. And then my lads sneak into the QFs at the death, by 4pts gd, win it and have a really good chance of being in the conversation next week. What a fairytale.

I retired after winning it last season. Thirteen years of obsessively following scorers / assists / clean sheets of players from teams I had no interest in had taken its toll. I have been contacted by the winner of the zingari league (once of this parish) who is cock-a-hoop with his back to back titles.

congrats on fks migs taking me down at the last. I really fucked the last couple of months - my total lack of interest in the epl after February did for me.

Sorry for basic question, but what is the difference between the two leagues?

The first one is a straight league table based on your overall score; in the second one you are assigned a specific opponent each week and whoever gets the higher score wins 3(?) points.

Thanks. I think I will join. I've done this for the last few years but start forgetting to update my team about 8 games in. I have zero knowledge of Premier League football, so my choices are largely based on a combination of statisticophilia and psychic assumption.
