So. Victory over Everton has sent Palace up to 11th in the table, hitting The Magical 40-Point Mark with four games to spare. With four games to go, they can finish as high as eighth; above them are the stealthily OK Stoke City (three points ahead), the openly dreadful Newcastle (six points), and Southampton (eight points), whose season basically ended in December.

They're currently riding a four-game winning streak, and their remaining fixtures are:

West Ham (A)
Manchester City (H)
Liverpool (H)
Fulham (A)

It's also mathematically possible that could finish last if they lose all their remaining games and Sunderland win all theirs (and probably some other teams win all theirs too, like, I dunno, Sunderland or something. I think there's probably an equation).

So... what now?

13th on 41 points. Should share manager of the year with Rodgers for dragging this squad away from an inevitable-looking relegation.

yeah, i hate Pulis but this is a fucking achievement. and i reckon they've got another 7 points in them from those games.

how does crystal palace' playing style this season compare to the shit he played at stoke?

Nowhere near as bad as we all feared. He has mainly played the squad he inherited though.

It'll be interesting to see how far he can take Spurs.

if he carries on playing direct, counterattacking football rather than the hyper-negative dogshit he played at stoke which was the worst possible football with virtually nothing happening outside of set pieces, considerably worse even than allardyce usually manages, then good luck to him

his results this season are exceptional, though it helps that there are about ten worthless, risibly inept teams in the league

think palace have about 3 points less than Utd since pulis took over and 6 less than arsenal!

The overall quality of players in the Premiership this season is probably only slightly worse than average but the organisation of most of the teams is unbelievably poor and there are about ten managers in the league who should not be operating at the level they are - I'm including people like Moyes, Sherwood and Pardew in this as well as most of the bottom half. And I'm generously not counting people like Big Sam and Lambo in there, even though they probably should be.

Pulis, for all his many faults, at least knows how to organise a team so they aren't as fucking gormless as most of the sides in the EPL. He is probably operating at more or less exactly his level and it's not like his Palace side are ever going to get much better than this regardless of personnel, but I'd say another four points this season is totally possible. So no higher than tenth.

Last 3 games vs teams fighting for the title or to avoid relegation means Statsbomb have crowned him The Kingmaker
