thread of how am i possibly related to this person i made?

on vacation, stumble upon an outdoor free concert thing in a park. lots of people hanging out in folding chairs on a big lawn.

i zone out for like 3 minutes watching the band. in that time my 5 year old has found and befriended 3 girls around her age. she learns all their names and they are running around rolling down a grassy hill. i look up a few minutes later and she’s casually chatting up one of their moms.

i never, ever, ever did anything like this as a kid. she does it regularly and i find it amazing and humbling.

that rules! my 13 y/o is basically a copy/paste of me in terms of personality so i have nothing to contribute, but im interested in other ppl's experiences!

mine are super casual about going up in front of their class or school in assembly. I got freaked out by the idea of that. I actively did not want to go to school where they 'made you do plays'. anyway the eldest has been in his school production and loved it!
