jesus god, did a "walk though" of a preschool today. actually it's a preschool through 8th grade place w/ the ridiculous name of "fl@gstaff @cademy." it was fine, but also just totally stressed me out about my knowledge of educational methods, or lack thereof. anyone have any reading recommendations on early education. nothing too academic, at least not to start off with.

yeah! it seemed weird to me too. don't know how much intermingling there is between the age groups though.

We toured a Montessori school on Saturday and I had a similar reaction. Seems strange to stress out about short division when your kid is not even three years old. They also had free-range classrooms with students aged 3 to 8. I wonder how these kids assimilate when they go on to public schools? Or is it assumed that they will all go to private schools after finishing?
