i came across a pretty sweet batch of funk/soul/jazz today at the marysville flea (near my wife's hometown, i go at least 10 times a year and buy records maybe a quarter of the time. shit, there's actually records there maybe only 50% of the time.). if i hadn't bought these today - and suggested to the seller to get the rest of their LPs out of the sun - they would have been warped by the first sunday in may.

yeah, they were not super popular records... one of the ones i got sells for occasionally stupid money on discog, and most of this stuff is sealed.

very cool! my in-town thrift stores usually suck, I need to get out to the coast to really score (like my post above).

this place usually has NOTHING good for records. and usually less than 100 things total.
they also had a bunch of hebrew records today, but i don't know if i can just wander into that shit blind.

Calexico's Spiritoso is fantastic! I don't know whether people here generally perceive them to be kind of adult-contemporary as a band at this point or not but I love them and am very excited about this RSD release.

Got nice copies today of Randy Newman's 12 Songs ($5), Jefferson Airplane's Bark ($8), and the Byrds reunion album with the two Neil Young covers ($6). Which confirms something I've always maintained: put away your guide, sell LPs in good shape for a reasonable price, and I'll be buying.

had fun with my friends at the flywheel record fair in Easthampton today. saw lots of people i like. i like being on the front steps of the building. outside. next to my pal andy. brought my boombox and played lots of 80's metal and miami bass and indian classical tapes. so glad i did that. nobody ever brings tunes. traded with people which was nice and which meant i didn't spend a ton of cash. spent about 150 bucks. after i paid for my table i made a nice profit. i sold records to 33 people which is almost the speed of a long-playing record. here's some stuff i brought home. keeping a bunch of it. got some stuff for the store, but mostly i shopped for me today.
