oof yeah I guess it is 4 LPs so £53 is not a bad deal but that's too rich for my blood.

the price has actually gone down quite a bit since RSD, I couldn't afford it before but I got a work bonus and went for it.

ian, I think I do need another copy of that record, but I got mine from a seller called Tone Vendor, in Florida. shoot me an email if you get a chance to work that out.

huh, if it came thru tone vendor you might be better off writing to them? but i can probably get a copy for you. i have a personal copy which, lets be honest, i will never listen to.

but it's so good! anyway, yeah, if you happen upon a spare let me know. I think mine is OK, will listen soon.

found some good stuff at the ps321 flea market in park slope. this one guy has consistently had some good "exotica" type joints and interesting records in general. I got Jean-Jacques Perrey "Moog Indigo" off him a couple months ago.

I meant to write that I left behind a bunch of late 70's funky jazz and prog records. It was odd finding those records at that goodwill. they only had a few records out and I asked the lady if they happen to have more records and she left me look at these tubs of records some guy had brought in. Lots of soft machine, Hawkwind, Mountain. I almost bought everything, but I'm trying very hard to scale back my record buying. She said he told her he's going to bring more in this week so we'll see.

you should have bought it all. you can always trade hawkwind and soft machine records! great stuff though. my heart would have been fluttering.

curbing your record buying only counts if you are paying top $$$$ for stuff and need to check yourself. friggin' thrift store bounty is another thing all together.

It's just that since coming to Oklahoma, I've bought around 150 records, maybe more I dunno, and add that to all of the baby related items, moving which will happen in a few months will be tricky.

now you sound more like a can DON'T kind of guy instead of a can DO kinda guy.

other than finally getting a decent copy of an elevators album my fave thing to get this year might be the parasites of the western world album. i'd never heard it. its even been reissued! on de stijjjjllll. so amazing. really my kinda thing. perfect copy with poster and insert and everything. also finally got a copy of the affinity album on paramount. i like that one a bunch. and i FINALLY found a record on Playboy Records that i LOVE. mostly i hate that label. Brownstone. never seen it. just fills me with joy. so amazing.

playboy is the worst label of all-time. second is wooden nickel. like, in terms of sheer overwhelming percentage of absolute garbage, i don't think any other major labels of the 60s/70s come close.

Found a copy of the Little Sister 45 that I didn't have. The Sly Stone-produced group - they had two 45s. "You're the One" is the one I just got - I had the other one.

There are some different versions. There's a "You're the One" single that has part two of the song on the flip. The other one I've got is "Somebody's Watching You"/"Stanga," which is really good.

Is there another record fair on the horizon? I've been kind of fizzled out on buying records lately... I guess that is fine because my budget has been going into fun weekend trips all summer.

there's another brooklyn flea record fair in october, so i guess thate's still a ways away.
