kinda bugs me for some reason. i know, i know, how else are you ever gonna hear some edition-of-30 beta lactam lathe-cut EP if it doesn't come out on cd at a later date. well, maybe God never intended for you to hear it. did you ever think of that?

this is really a question of packaging and marketing, i suppose. but there is a part of me that likes the idea of a new release only being available in the vinyl format. you are tossing a bone to the vinyl faithful. not that i buy a lot of fancy limited-edition vinyl, but i like to know that exists. it's fun. and pretty. usually.

mixed feelings. it's cool and fun and collectable and vinyl is the physical format that's going to persist longest. but i listen to most music in my car on cd while commuting, and second most walking around on my ipod. so you at least have to throw a download in. even then, my computer doesn't feel like burning cd's lately!

this bugs me too - i feel like its a pretty questionable and kinda scummy trick a lot of the time. wolves in the throne room did this with that last ep and then put the cd out like 2 months later or something, which is just kind of lame. i do feel like an included digital download is a nice gesture tho because my digitize my vinyl project has gotten about to step zero despite all my good intentions.

It's great when they turn into babes. Usually they seem to turn into (jjjusten), Friday, 17 July 2009 18:37 (fifteen years ago)

The Paul McCartney mix album, "Twin Freaks" is still only a vinyl edition, kinda.

There are promos of it on CD.

I managed to get one at the 'promo-palace' a few years ago.

Thought I'd sell it just to see. Paid for the holiday to Spain (the accomodation), seriously!

ten years pass...

i think bands like Attila should have vinyl-only releases, with the vinyl and master tapes destroyed immediately afterwards
