Judging A Record By Its Cover

do you do this? do you buy records based on cover? are you more inclined to pay $$$ for something with a really cool cover? or at least take a chance on something that you've never heard of? have you ever passed on a record for a long time cuz it had a boring cover?

i feel like i can't even have this kinda conversation about CDs cuz i honestly don't care what the hell a cd looks like.

Bought a lot of LPs on Factory primarily for the cover. Usually turned out the music was good too.

i got into yes cuz i liked the way tales from topographic oceans looked.

can't say I've necessarily bought a record *purely* for its cover, unless it's dollar-bin type stuff, then bombs away..

I spent a year where I'd look at Pet Sounds but couldn't convince myself to buy it because of the cover.

That's the great thing about cheap-o records. I feel like I can take a chance on goofy shit or buy something just for the cover, and if it's no good I'm only out a buck or two. I would never do that with a CD.
