Record interpretations

Records you got recently that you think are BLANK records. Like, "That's a real xhuxk record," or, "That's a real scott sewardy record."

Earl Bostic - Bostic Rocks: Hits of the Swing Age (King) - nijoli

Willie Murphy and "Spider" John Koerner - Running Jumping Standing Still - Ian

Mighty Diamonds - Right Time
Dennis Brown - Words of Wisdom
Rockers Meet King Tubbys in a Fire Station - roxymuzak

King Harvest - Dancing in the Moonlight - xhuxk

So I'm stereotyping. You can make your own interpretations as accurate as you want.

You for me = thudd rock and disco? You like a lot of disco I like.

xhuck is more questionable classic rock and questionable late-70s/early-80s new wavey power pop. And some of the prissier metal.

Like if I bought a Deaf School album I'd think xhuxk.

bamcquern, Wednesday, 21 July 2010 20:56 (sixteen years ago)

chuck loves disco too!

i thought this thread would be like using records as tarot cards; kinda disappointed tbh

Oh, ok. I guess I've seen his dollar record lists before so I should know that. I got the best dollar record haul yesterday but I never have the drive to make a list.

xp Well, use it how you want to. But vinyl only.

Which has me thinking: Scott, if there were a talk about new or old tapes you've bought or listened to thread, would it be okay to be on ilv?

bamcquern, Wednesday, 21 July 2010 21:00 (sixteen years ago)

Because lots of things I wanna talk about recently are tapes. Like Personal and the Pizzas.

bamcquern, Wednesday, 21 July 2010 21:00 (sixteen years ago)

yeah, you can start a tape thread. that's cool. i listen to lots of tapes. start a tape listening/buying thread. they're made out of plastic, right?

scott seward, Wednesday, 21 July 2010 21:07 (sixteen years ago)

also, personal and the pizzas LP collecting all their previously-released stuff (and a few unreleased studio versions) is available as of tomorrow!
