The 8-track thread

I don't know if anyone else collects 8-tracks. I have to admit that I haven't bought one in about eight years but I still pick up a player if it is in good condition because I own more than a hundred of them.

I got one of my 8-track boxes out of storage and scanned a few. Of course they don't sound so hot but back when I was younger and hungrier they weren't much worse sounding than a boombox and crap cassettes.

I am glad I saved them, look at these hot covers!

I am sorry about the size, I will try to make the next batch smaller.

Exotic moog was so awesome I paid twenty bucks for the CD!! So there is a benefit to auditioning these even if you're an audiophile.

these are great. 'Truckin On' looks amazing and something that would only be on 8-track. keep 'em coming.

do they still sound decent or is the tape all flaking off?

Aqua, I just got one of my players out of storage too so I don't know how these sound. You know a lot of times you can get them and they clearly have not been played much.

I haven't played one of this in about seven or eight years, and I bought many of these in the nineties so who knows how badly they have deteriorated. I plan on giving them a listen today. By the way, I have one of these and it works!

I used to read this wonderful zine called 8-track Mind, it had great stories in it. I have this video too, where people talk about their scores:

fourteen years pass...

revive!

trying to remember the name of the terry callier album that had a unique charles stepney segue on the 8-track

i know the extra bits on lou reed's _berlin_ 8-track and pink floyd's _animals_ 8-track, any other records with unique 8-track content?

lol i had it wrong anyway, it was the acetate 2lp version of "what color is love?", apparently played on gilles peterson's radio show at some point
