so I guess I need a new one, because my lame mixer phono inputs are an insult to an MMF-5 turntable.
I have a Nakamichi Stasis SR-3A amp which is still the weak link in my chain. Can anyone recommend a standalone phono preamp that will give the Nakamichi a decent signal to work with?

oh and I should clarify, the part that died is inside the Nakamichi (the built-in phono preamp). I don't have a standalone preamp yet. It had been having intermittent dropouts since I bought it, and now it's toast. The rest of the amp seems fine.

I have a Parasound phono preamp which I use with a MMF-2.1. It's a good "midrange" preamp - not cheap but not audiophile ridiculous. $100 at audioadvisor.com.
