I'm pondering whether to buy the complete Folkways Jazz anthologies, 1-11, so as not to split up the set.

If I put them out in the store, they will probably be bought individually or a handful at a time. But it's such a nice complete set. They all have the inserts. Most of them are in shrinkwrap. It could be really good for the budding moldy fig within me. But on the other hand, at like $8 or so per volume, that would get expensive.

But I don't want to see them split up!!!

Growing up I had the Smithsonian Anthology of Classic Jazz, and this seems to have sort of a similar bent, though a lot of the tracks are different and it extends further in time. Really like that they're including fusion, free, contemporary, etc.

just buy them, you know you want to :)

I LOVE that Smithsonian anthology, such a perfectly compiled overview.

Funny that they included a Medeski Martin & Wood track, but it happens to be my favorite MMW track.
