TIGHT HOLES

like, what do you do when you have a really TIGHT HOLE? i mean, sometimes that hole is SO TIGHT it feels like it's about to STRANGLE MY SPINDLE! CHOKE IT OFF. so how do deal with it? gently ROCK that shit BACK AND FORTH til you feel some give? PULL AND PRAY? give it a little SHAVE? cut loose and DRILL THAT SHIT?!

shave works for me, but I only do it under extreme circumstances. a small knife blade will work.

shaving works for me too... I use a sharp pair of scissors and lightly twist the blade a couple of times - if you do it carefully, you can avoid any noticeable spindle damage/marks.

i have a pair of scissors i use but it compresses the outer side of the hole evenly rather than shaving anything off. always seemed to work ok.

I use a boxcutter to shave it. Carefully.

If it is tight, sometimes you can kind of gradually work your fingers in underneath from both sides until it releases. You don't want to bend it too much, and make sure your hands are clean.

i'm with the shavers. just a little bit at a time until it's perfect, you don't want to make make it too loose.

because yeah, the other option is kind of jiggling it out and there is too much that can go wrong that way..

If you have a hardware store near you, you may be able to find a cheap round/taper file of a suitable diameter to squeeze in for a gentle shave. That's what I do because I am pretty clumsy and don't trust myself with scissors or a knife.

(Admittedly I'd probably find it hard to justify buying a tool I've found no other use for now I am not quite the hardcore vinyl nut I was when I got it, but it was only a couple of dollars and it is strangely satisfying to use)

yo yo this shaver talk is CRAZY. just stick a bic pen in there and gently auger the hole a bit. ive never had any problems with that, and never needed to resort to more drastic measures either.
