I second all of Nate's recommendations (I'm in South Tabor). Also check out The Country Cat (great southern-inspired food menu next to vintage), The Observatory (great burgers), and Flying Pie (extremely filling pizza and calzones). All of these spots are around 82nd ave. and Stark. You should also check out Mt. Tabor park for some good hikes and nice views of PDX.

Having a Still-Untitled British TeeVee night at the Low Brow on Tuesday the 20th. 7pm til 10-11 or so. Free, all invited, bring your friends, etc.

Figured we'll start with some easy picks(Doctor Who, Blackadder, Jeeves & Wooster, whatever else we can find on Region 1 dvd) and go from there.

For Columbus day, I have the amazing OvO (from Italy) playing at Tube (18 NW 3rd) tonight. BTW, every monday I Dj there; it's Heavy Metal Ladies Night ($2 Hamms & well drinks for the ladies).

My nissan had an alternator die on thursday night, and i got the thing as far as the garage two blocks away! So i'm car-less(again) assuming they get the part in on tuesday...

My parents brought a bunch of stuff down, so now I have a bike, stereo, dresser, musical instruments, among other things. We had lunch at the Thai Peacock and explored Powells. Luckily the weather decided to clear up for us.

Kingfish, do you live in the Hollywood area? That's where my new office is.

Food stamps man. Then you can be like me and buy nice cheeses and peppered salamis and organic produce.

Naw, I'm eatin' a little bit better than that, but still very much on the cheap. More like pickin' up Colby instead of Cheddar because it's 2.20 for half a pound rather than 2.50 is where I am. No matter, money should start rollin in by the beginning of November.

I had a great time in Portland this weekend:

Laurelhurst Market was delicious as was my second visit to Le Pigeon. The PSU farmers market is incredible and the Applefest had more apples than I'd ever heard of. Also, I got absolutely drenched on Saturday afternoon but at least it was never cold.

Avoid Beaker and Flask, though. Ugh.

I just want to rep again for Vintage on 79th and SE Stark. That's a cool (tiny) cocktail bar. vintagepdx.com

In that case, I'll rep again for The Country Cat next door. I'm addicted to this place. Dinner is a bit spendy, but their brunch menu is reasonable.
