In Sydney at least, the roller derby girls I've met turned out to be pretty boring - aggressively, defensively boring, even. I was expecting so much more in terms of playful social sex role stereotyping but nuh. They reminded me of the worst kind of rockabillies. My grandma was more radical than these social flockers. Maybe it's different in other states or overseas or something.
